Michael Schumacher in critical condition after head trauma

I think the former F1 doc is out of his area of competence here as he's not commenting on medical issues, but on media issues, i.e. the communications strategy chosen by camp Schumi.

Read it a again. The out of coma story was in April, sadly little has changed since then. The good news story was a little misguided as it seems a rehash of what was released in April and to a certain extent built-up false expectations.

Mrs. Kehm confirmed that Schumacher's medical record was stolen and offered to the press for 50k Euros or more. She made absolutely clear that the contents are classified and that legal measures will be taken, should anything private from this record surface.

That's pretty much the definition of classy right there.
This is highly illegal. I would hope for full-on hardcore pornographic litigation against both the seller and any bidders.

Given this has actually happened and the deceased ended his life because he was guilty, I assume that he's had serious problems in his life. He must have been very desperate to believe that openly blackmailing such a famous person can possibly work.

Michael Schumacher leaves hospital for recovery at home

Sabine Kehm said in a statement that he had made "progress", but there was "a long and difficult road ahead".

Schumacher suffered a head injury in a skiing accident in France in December last year and was transferred to the Swiss hospital in June.

Schumacher's family said in June that he had come out of a medically induced coma to reduce swelling in his brain.

Schumacher spent six months at a hospital in France after his accident, before being transferred to the hospital in Lausanne. His family home is in Gland, which is on the shores of Lake Geneva, some 40km (25 miles) from Lausanne.

That's great news!

Soooooooo... I haven't seen anything if the man is still recovering and or speaking. How about you guys?

I fear "recovering" in this case means laying in a bed all day not being able to do anything - let alone speak properly.

Unfortunately, I think you're right.
As a sad side-note his fate saved Jules Bianchi: Reportedly, he changed his will to state that he does not want life-extending measures should it be uncertain whether he'll ever get out of a vegetative state after Schumacher's accident. Then he crashed in Suzuka and never woke up from his coma. He'd probably still be "recovering" as well if he didn't sign this order.

Some douchebag started circulating a RIP Michael Schumacher 1969-2016 banner on facebook, complete with obituary and stuff. And people started sharing. Damn it.

Meanwhile, in the real world:

Michael Schumacher condition news 2016: Former F1 champ still on the road to recovery link

Not huge news, same old, still "recovering", but not dead.

He's still breathing. That's all they can really say I'm sure.

He's still breathing. That's all they can really say I'm sure.

Does it sound wrong to admit part of me actually hopes he cannot remember who he is. That must be the worst torture imaginable for someone like him. I'm sure that's what Bianchi made his wishes known for.

Anybody know if he can speak?

Several tabloids reported he'd be speaking/walking/doing flip-flops/returning to F1, with denials and even litigation from the Schumacher camp following each time. Which tells me he probably still is a vegetable.

EDIT: In fact, lawyers for the celebrity rag "Bunte" and the Schumacher estate met in court today over a headline claiming he could, in fact, walk again. The interesting thing is that "Bunte" usually is the reliable gossip rag who don't make up stories from thin air. Their lawyer wants to prove in court that the source "Bunte" used was credible enough as to print the story.

Meanwhile I keep seeing clickbait ads entitled "Michael Schumacher's Net Worth will Amaze You!"

Bunch of cunts.

A) I can figure out for myself that he has more stuffed down the back of the couch than I will see in a lifetime and B) I am sure that given the choice he would rather like to be in a position to enjoy his hard-earned good fortune in a totally sentient fashion.

Arseholes.
