Minecraft

So let me get this straight, the server is located in Bahrain, is being administered from Finland, and has users everywhere from the US to Europe to Australia?

I'll stop complaining about lag

Would a dual core Atom/4GB HTPC/low usage torrent box be any better? I'm sure I have no idea what I'm talking about and am probably making an absurd offer, but I thought I'd offer anyway.

And the server is Up

Honestly I'm not sure. The box isn't under any load (I check task manager regularly). I think it has to do with minecraft.net being really bogged down.

I just started the server, Galantti logged on and the log shows this:

2011-02-11 21:58:10 [INFO] Galantti [/XXXXXXXXXXXXX:XXXXX] logged in with entity id 124

It can't be that with 1 person the server is overloaded...any ideas?

Mine does that all the time. No idea. My 4 GB RAM and 2.66 Core 2 Duo should be able to handle one person as well....

I find I have to restart the server application every now and then, RAM usuage will randomly skyrocket and it will stop logging people on or be extremely laggy. However it helped when I turned off online mode (authentication with Minecraft.net).

Since we are only giving the address out privately, do you think it would be ok to turn off online authentication? That at least takes one thing out of the equation. I think the bottom line is that its just buggy.

It's always been running in offline mode, since Galantti uses white-listing.

We need a new aerial map, so much has been built/changed!

Me, Galantti (viilaaja@pt cruiser) aka God :p and Tobias started building something new on another location, you can warp there with /warp jenshideout :)

I've been watching the Yogscast videos for the last couple of days after watching a couple of videos to find what it actually is. When I'm done I might get it and join you all. :)

Haha I love those Yogscast videos. I watched the entire series. Hilarious. Made me finally interested enough and then bought the game.

Hideout is finished on the outside :) warp point is now set to "hideout"

That'd be quite cool :)

We were talking about having a "Warpwall" somewhere in the hotel, where people can hang signs with interesting warp points. Then you can see eachothers work, or interesting locations :)

It's 8 times the size of earth, it'd be a shame to limit youself to one area :D

Waldo dismantled my lighthouse. :(

I'm really scared to log off now because I don't want to wake up to a barren room.

I wouldn't worry too much, griefing a server run by a forum admin wasn't his best idea.

Holy shit, the greenhouse fucking EXPLODED when I walked by.. patched the massive waterflow and recovered some cacti.. Sorry Gallanti, no idea what the hell happened other than BOOM and half the thing kinda disappeared. Had nothing in my inventory, so I know it couldn't have been me.
