Ownership Verified: My 89' E30 325i Touring

I really really like the Vogtland ones in mine.

This is an E30 with Vogtland springs:

30/30 would be ideal, but H&R are shit as i learned in the forums. After 6 months the 30/30 merges more into a 50/50 after it sets.

Bilstein doesn't manufacture springs, depending on the application the springs will come either from Eibach or H&R

Failing that could you not take a tip from Wheeler Dealers and track down a small independent engineering company to make you a set to a specification? They certainly exist in the UK and I'd be happy to liaise with one and arrange the necessary shipping if required.

Yep. I was in the same boat, Eibach stopped making kits for E28, and H&R's kit was apparently too low and too stiff. So I found a UK company making Eibach-replicas for E28. Wasn't too expensive either, iirc. The company is www.fritzsbits.co.uk, they are E24/E28 specialist, but could be worth asking for their advice anyway.

Looking at Koed.dk they have some stock replacement springs for 43 EUR (not sure if it's 2 springs or 1 though) and FK 40/40 lowering springs or you could get some adjust spring seats.

I don't want to lower the car, just adjust its stance. Bsically keep the current height, but with springs that are actually worth a damn.

I don't want to constantly worry about scraping on speedbumps.

How high are your speedhumps? I have Eibachs on my E31 and it never scrapes on speedhumps. You have to be pretty damn low to scrape on speedhumps. Even the Donkervoort doesn't.

Funny how your car is the only one not slammed to the ground.

Mine is the only one that is perfectly drivable over all roads. The other guys are constantly scraping.

I know, I was more just making an observation about the other "BMW enthusiasts" in the picture. :p

-_- The way it should be.

I opted for the H&R 30/30 springs in the end. They were 215 eur vs. 410 for the stock ones.

They are at the powdercoaters where they will be sandblasted and coated semi gloss black, like the rest of the suspension components.

This is both for me, because i hate colored suspension components (except the PU bushings) and to avoid any questions at the MOT.

I have also ordered the thickest rubber spring pads for the front and will have custom extra thick rubber pads made for the rear, to negate the lowering effect as much as possible.
