A quick look on Wikipedia, and I believe it to be a 1971 or 1972 Chevrolet Caprice. - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Caprice#Second_generation_(1971–1976)
72 has different corner lights. It's a 71 - and it's an Impala. For our Euro cousins, it's a cheaper version of a Caprice and was more common in police/fleet service and in police/fleet trim.

One giveaway in 71 is that the Caprice has a 'bowtie' logo on the grille and the Impala doesn't, plus the Impala has the spelled out 'C H E V R O L E T' on the leading edge of the hood.

The particular one in the top post is definitely in police or fleet trim; cheap body (no optional/uplevel trim or fittings on the outside) and the classic "dog dish" cheap hubcaps covering steel wheels.
