New PC Build! Advice needed

Asus Mainboard 95 Watt TPD

where did you get that from? how the hell is the mainboard supposed to blow 95W away... just look at the heatsinks on the damn thing, they're in no way capable of dissipating 95W...
maybe if you add up all the USB ports at 2,5W a piece and have 20 of those all going, otherwise that number is way over the top

it's Max Usage, Idle is probablay way lower, videocard too. I always use Max Watt to choose right PSU, so the PSU won't cut out if i run it on Max and having some reserve ;)

yeah... those 95W there are listed under "processor"... so the board can support processors that have a TDP of up to 95W...
just think: how is the mobo itself supposed to blow such an amount of power away? everything apart from USB power etc. has to be dissipated to heat, and just look at those heatsinks on the board... they can't be capable of handling much more than maybe 15-20W.

so 560 Watt PSU is the way to go, 750 Watt is overkill :D

I picked the 750 because I want the ability to crossfire in the future. As well, the 750 was a bundle deal with the mobo that gave me $20 off. So it ended up being like $20 more than a 650 Watt one. I also chose that because I like the modularness to it. But I just realized the case is big enough that cable management shouldn't be an issue...

I found a Corsair Enthusiast 650W for $99-15MIR.

And for cheaper Mobo GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD4-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard:

So with the changes...I am in at $1292.85...which isn't really that big of a difference. Unless I am completely missing something better priced. I couldn't see a Gigabyte or Asrock mobo for 50-60$ less.

So... I made some changes... and just bought it. All NCIX but the case, as that had a MIR that NCIX didn't. I believe that was the cheapest I could find everything (for the specific product). Case was on Newegg.

i5 2500K $199.99
XFX HD 6950 2GB $279.99-30MIR
Patriot Pyro 60GB SSD $99.99-20MIR
Cougar CMX 700W $79.99
MSI Z68A-GD65 B3 $190.74-40MIR
DVD $19.99
Seagate 7200.12 1TB 32MB $59.98
Cooler Master Storm Sniper $139.99-15MIR
Total $1070.66
Tax $1209.85-105MIR
$1104.85

So...pretty close.

You really don't need that 700W PSU.

And if it means anything, I think the Storm Sniper is HIDEOUS.

I was going from at least spending $110 on a 600W one to spending $80 on a 700W one that was a special half off deal that lasted a few hours.

And I am not going for looks, I am going for the huge space and the huge side panel that allows for either 2 huge fans or 4 small fast fans.
