No 56k: No vehicle was spared! [FG Roadtrip 2016 UK edition] photo thread

Fake-northernmost point of UK

Turns out John 'o Groats is not so much the most Northerly point in on the British mainland, it's merely the furthest you can get from Lands End in Cornwall. :p

The Daimler had regular issues with luggage space.

The original video also contains Dennis' (I think) excellent evil laugh.

Hahahah, awesome! I'll never forget the whisky moments on the back seat...

Ok, second part to get this over with.

Somewhere in lake district

The Royal Oak in Braithwaite

Didn't realize it was anti-drinking poster at first, the labels would work as beer names :)

Later at YHA house

The king of all chairs!

This is where everyone decided to try on Peter's new flat cap.

And back to the owner

Holy crap. Also known as the place of 2 punctures and one dropped bike.

The art of zen-photography

Stopping because 8er is spitting gearbox oil. Adrian (who is in the 205) assures us it's normal :)

At the fracas ground zero parking. You have to admit, there's only one car that properly fits here.

They have very nice backyard, and a matching view.

Our brakepipe sprung a leak when we were near Manchester, so we left the car for overnight repairs, and the Daimler team had a day-off in the city, where we had one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten (no pics of that, sorry). Also pickup up a rental for one night. Someone else was getting their as well :)

Bridge to Anglesey

Tough decisions

After spilling the whisky on his shirt, he tried opening the beer. This is the result.

Today's office.

Jaguar dealership in Coventry. We though about trying our luck and getting a bump-stop there while passing by. Rear shocks were pretty much gone at this point, and having lost one bump stop we were literally scraping the road regularly.

Modern XJ. This is shit, where are my tables?

The channel had to be crossed without rentals, and everything had to be packed in Matt's other Land Rover that joined us on the day. How full was it? Yes.

Quick wash in Dover, and important detailing.

A few drive-by shots of the 8er.

Due to miscommunicating my intent, the others just flew past instead of matching our speed, and I had camera on slow shutter, so pretty much all shots were crap :(

Morning after the feast at Peter's parents' cool and weird place.

Some people went straight home, others got lost, while us and two bikers went on the planned route to Spa. There was some track action, and we saw an open gate and drove in to take pictures, while bikers (presumably) left for Germany. Upon return to the gate it was closed and apparently broken, so we were trapped  Took us a few tries to find our way to the actual, main entrance, so we took the chance to have coffee at the track (obviously).

Antti is permanently plugged into some power source

Intersting :)

Next stop - Adenau! On our way to Alibaba.

That's all of my colour pics of the trip. Some others will come later.

Oh, the sheer quality of MXM?s photo set as usual! Lovely!
Everyone else is doing well with the photos as well.

P.S. Matt2000 Excellent, excellent gif

Thanks <3

Developed and scanned films as well now. I tried shooting more with the film camera this time, managed 4 rolls. Unfortunately the shop delivered iso400 film, even though I ordered iso100, and there wasn't time to sort it out. Thus many shots are much grainier than I'd like. In retrospect, I should've just exposed it at iso200 or 100, and pull-develop. Oh well...

Commencing grayscale dump.

I have a few more shots from the Ringmeet, I'll post them in the Ringmeet thread soon.

Those two would make an amazing wall piece!

Yes, some of the pics look a bit too grainy but most of them are just spot on!
Excellent MXM!

Some very nice shots there MXM! I now have enough material for new avatars for the next few years I think. :D

So I think I've finally uploaded all of mine, here are some.

At some time just after the planned arrival time, the shitboxes assembled.

There was standing around to be done.

The Pre-Roadtrip

The Pre-Roadtrip

Full Album: https://www.flickr.com/gp/troj4n/xx1615

Instead of taking the short route to Edinburgh, we decided to have a small pre-roadtrip-roadtrip.

Leaving home, fully loaded.

Head over to DaHitch for a small breakfast.

Everybody packing their shit.

Joe is already tired.

Waiting to get aboard the train.

Free cash is not so free after all. :(
Font provided by facebook.

Bikes by the see. The first of many group shots.

And everyone -has- to take a picture.

FUCK YOU TOO!

WARNING!!!

Say whut?

Roger!

Some lone camper.

Joefies, the making of.

Mine is bigger!

MORE WARNING!!!

Groynes?

These groynes?

Another Joefie in the making

FUCK YOU TOO, AGAIN!

AT ANY TIME!

I'm starting to think he's having erection problems.

Funny name.

Joe approves!

Now that is a proper beer selection!

What goes up, ...

..., must come down.

Finally
