Took almost the whole summer to put the car together. Although it could have been done faster, I rather do things slowly taking my time and without cutting corners.

The car is a 1999 Ford Contour SVT. For people from Europe who probably haven't heard of this car, it is basically the North American sibling of the Mondeo St200

There are a lot of FWD haters out there, but once they watch some touring car racing, they might change their mind. (this car is far away from being a touring car, but it is a well set up car for some serious track action)

It'll be no pig in a straight line either... On the 1/4 mile, it should be able to pull a 12.9x - 13.1x easly (atleast that is what we are aiming for, and with proper tuning it is easly achievable, since we have already done a 13.5 @ 104mph witha similar set up car, and on the first run without launcing hard and being properly tuned, this car has a shorter final drive, and less weight which it'll help out getting even better times)

Mod list as follows (as much as I can remember)

Drivetrain:

- 3L Duratec 24v DOHC engine (same engine found in Ford Escape's and also Noble M12's, Noble's are Forced inducted)

- Spec Lightweight Aluminum Flywheel
- Moroso Racing Oil Accumulator w/Electronic Valve Unit
- Misc OEM Ford parts and Mods to get the SVT Cams to work with this engine (ie timing chains, tensioners etc...)
- SCT Xcal 2 for Tuning

Suspension, Chassis and Brakes
- Koni Yellow Struts
- Ground Control Coil Overs
- Custom 6pt rollbar
- Custom Subframe Connectors
- Willwood Four Piston Forged Billet SuperLight Calipers (front)

- Two piece 11.75" Coleman Rotors (rear)

Engine finaly in the car. Valve covers are taped up not to damage the bling bling 3 stage metalic powder coating

Before it gets sent to Steeda Canada to get fine tuned, the weather turned for the worst, and it is stored for winter until spring 2010

You'll need to post a pic with your username on some paper and the car.

For proof.

But mother of god is that a nice car.

Thanks!

Lol, it's not like I posted a Ferrari Enzo up. Good thing I haven't posted the Mustang up lol

It's in storage for winter, but next time I am by where the car is stored, I'll snap a picture with a piece of paper that has my username on it if it is required for me to do so)

Oh, don't get me wrong.

I know it's not an ?ber expensive car, but it's just that's in the forum rules now.

Just saying so you can avoid getting into trouble from a moderator.

:D I agree with you on American spec bumpers for cars, leaves a lot to be desired lol.

My Mustang which you can see on some of the pictures is sitting right under me right now, I can easly take a picture of that with a piece of paper for the time being for the moderators, so my post doesn't get deleted.

I would love to get a Mondeo ST200 front end! But I would need, a complete front end (hood, fenders/wings, bumper, rad support, grille, headlights). It is in the future plans/dreams.

I was looking into a Contour SVT once, ended up with a Mustang GT. Good cars.

I owned a '97.

Nice car! You have good taste in street wheels!

Nice car, but every time i see one, there is a Old lady driving:p

:woot::woot::woot:
what a car! what else could I say but awesome!!
it can put in shame much flashier cars.. and it's tuned just the way I like it.. :D
great job m8!

That's a properly done SVT. Not too many people know about the Contour SVT- or it's Mercury equivalent. Very cool. I haven't seen one for a while, but that car and the SVT Focus (ST170) showed us that Ford can make a proper, fun and cheap car. More please.

Mercury equivalent of the SVT?

Just wow!

Who cares what wheels drive when the car is modified nicely like this one. (yes ignore my sig, i know)

Very cool car and i bet it performs well with those mods. What sort of power do you expect?

I know about the Mystique. But it was just a Contour with a Mercury grill.
