sounds bad, but these are things they wouldn?t notice unless they started taking your car apart... I?m guessing it was some kind of event, not the regular tourist sessions? There was a fairly hefty list, which was partly my fault, as a new job I took on 6 months previous meant the only thing I'd changed on the car was the oil. The other parties at fault were the two UK garages I took it to prior to the trip, one for the MOT, the other for an inspection. Usually I'd do this stuff myself, and now I've been made redundant from that job, I'll continue doing it myself, hah.
The largest problems were a seized N/S rear brake caliper (which I had noticed in fairness, as the car really dives to one side under heavy-braking), and the top mount from the same corner had ovalled. That, and my coilovers really aren't suitable for areas like Flugplatz. I've literally signed up for the Air Force this afternoon, so while I'm in training for the next 7 months, I'll be completely rebuilding the suspension and brakes.
Actually, the construction going on at the ring (and there is a LOT) is about the best example I?ve ever seen of how it should be done. There is work going on literally 24/7, and in germany that?s so extraordinary I can?t even begin to describe it. I went there two weekends in a row during the summer, and in those 5 days they built what would probably have been about 2 months work on a normal construction site...The TG gang needs to go there and do another "24hr road repair", it's taking these guys way too long

What? Is that a Del Sol?
Well, in Germany Corvettes are the most "common" of the american sports cars (if you can call something a sportscar which can only go fast in a straight line , and by "common" I mean you see one in a week or so), Mustangs (the new ones) can be seen every now and then, I've never seen any Viper in the flesh. Camaros are rarely seen, too, just like Trans Ams.Here's a question for our European members: just how rare are camaros, corvettes, vipers, mustangs, trans ams, etc over there?
Seeing any genuine American metal (except the occasional old Valiant of course) down here would be like a UFO had landed in town. A couple of summers ago I was out walking at a local park and a white Z06 convertible - I think it was one, I saw it from a distance, rolled past with this beautiful untamed primal rumble.
I was like
First and only corvette I've ever seen so far that wasn't just at some car show.
