I'm curious to see what people think.

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about:

Nadya Denise Suleman (born October 12, 1975 in Fullerton, California) is an American woman who came to international attention when she gave birth to octuplets in January 2009. They are only the second full set of octuplets to be born alive in the United States and, one week after their birth, surpassed the previous worldwide survival rate for a complete set of octuplets set by the Chukwu octuplets in 1998. The circumstances of their high order multiple birth has led to controversy in the field of assisted reproductive technology as well as an investigation by the Medical Board of California of the fertility specialist involved. Public reaction turned negative when it was discovered that the single mother already had six other young children at home at the time and she was not financially independent.

Suleman, who was unemployed and on public assistance programs at the time, conceived the octuplets and her six older children via in-vitro fertilization (IVF) with the participation of a male friend who provided donor sperm and is the biological father.

I'm gonna stay out of the argument, for now just to see where it goes.

So what if she has 14 kids? In Russia back in pre-revilotionary years it was normal for a family to have 10+ kids, my grand grand father had 12 brothers and sisters.

Also as far as i understand the ocnomom gets over 130.000$/month in child payments (support) so it's not like there will be a financial issue. Kids will be fed, dressed, educated, and having a big family is always fun.

Wait what? Are you sure you didn't forget to put a decimal in there? I doubt child benefits would amount to 1.6 million $ a year. Even if she has 14 children.

What are you talking about? If she is getting 130k who do you think is paying for it? She has no job, the only source of income she has is media whores like Dr Phil paying for interviews. Just because the tax payers will end up paying for it doesn't mean they should end up paying for it. And I have no idea where you are getting these #'s from, the state will not pay 130k per month, she might get 130k per year and that's still too much. As the article stated the dad is only a sperm donor, he has no legal connection to the kids and is not required to make any payments so she is doing it alone.


As for her she reminds me of Michael Scott from the Office;
"I wanna be married and have 100 kids so I can have 100 friends, and no one can say no to being my friend."

She has huge mental issues who for some reason thinks these kids are her key to reality TV. Somewhere in that warped collagen filled head she thinks she's a future Angelina Jolie. The kids should be taken away from her because that house is not fit for 14 kids. Than the doctor who put them in her after knowing she already had 6 kids, no husband, and no job should be put in jail and have his license revoked and Dr Phil should be shot just because he's a tool.

Dateline (or 20/20?) had a story of that family from the midwest who had I think 6 kids a few years ago, they were given a lifetime supply of Gerber food and diapers and still had to have both the mom and the dad, both sets of grandparents, and a live in nanny to take car of them all. The dad works 12 hours, the second he gets home he takes over watching the kids so the mom can sleep, than when she gets up they do dinner and than the dad sleeps, gets up than goes to work for 12 hours. The mom said she hadn't done anything for herself since the kids were born it's a 24/7 thing and that's only 6, this lady has 14 some of which are special needs.


I can't wait until her 15 minutes of fame is over, I am forced to watch Nancy Grace and she is brought up nearly every day.

Sure, but you don't see her running a farm and putting children to work, which is why, along with infant mortality, people had so many children.

I view every child as a blessing, but to conceive for the sake of fame or welfare? Disturbing.
