Official: 2,000-hp "Lamborghini" Indomable Concept to find its way into production

To clarify right at the beginning, this is NOT from Lamborghini itself, but from a design contest sponsored by Lamborghini. A company called 215 Racing will supposedly start delivering these in mid-2012.

Um, yea. I'll believe it when I see it. Also, not only 2,000HP, but 2,000 TORQUE to the rear wheels? This thing will spin the wheel in 4th gear at full throttle unless they dial back the torque. That being said, this thing is sexy as hell.

Reminds me of that Brabus SL Top Gear test where the car didn't want to move.

$950,000? Considering that Lambo wants to sell the Sesto's for $2.8 million each, this almost seems like a bargain, lol.

The Lamborghini Indomable was born from the minds of Daniel Chinchilla Ochoa and Alberto Fernandez Albilares. A concept, it was created as part of a design program sponsored by Lamborghini. Now, however, this conceptual vision is going to become a reality ? only it won't be built in Sant'Agata Bolognese.

A company called 215 Racing has acquired the rights to the Indomable design, and it plans to turn out a production version of the design team's rendering. Based in Abington, PA, 215 Racing will produce the car, which will be called the SF22, through its sub-company Mostro Di-Potenza. That name means "Monster Power" in Italian, and the moniker doesn't lie.

According to the company, power for the SF22 will be provided a mid-mounted twin-turbocharged 9.4-liter(!) V8 engine. The mill is a General Motors 572, which will be paired with a six-speed sequential gearbox. 215 Racing expects this beast to produce 2,000-horsepower and 2,000 pound-feet of torque. Just a quick recap for you, this isn't a train we're talking about but a road-going two-door that is propelled via its rear wheels.

Of course, any company can claim such dramatic power numbers. So, we can only wait to see just how capable the finished Mostro Di-Potenza SF22 turns out ? if indeed salable examples are produced at all. The company plans to build 50 examples total, at a rate of two per month over the course of two years, and says it's now taking orders for mid-2012 deliveries. The initial deposit will only cost you $1,000, but the fully built vehicle will run you close to $950,000.

Great looking car, but I wish they'd make it lightweight and put a smaller engine in.

I am more pleased by the fact that it'll have a 572 than anything else.

This thing will spin the wheel in 4th any gear at full any throttle unless they dial back the torque.

FTFY.

Also; Insane. I want one.

I wonder what happened to the guy who suggested it have 4WD?

Too tall and skinny. Too much power.

They will probably have a switch to lower the power like a lot of the 1000-2000hp hotrods we have here.

What?s the point, then?
"I am using only 500hp because if I go beyond 1,000, the block melts, my half-shafts shatter and kill nearby children and it does 3 gallons to the mile, but I could theoretically flip that switch and have 5,000hp!"
<shakeshead>

There is no point to that much power to be honest.

Pretty awesome idea and I'm glad Lamborghini is letting them go to town with it. We know Ferrari would never allow this, among other companies I'm sure.

Looks a bit like a 458/gallardo mixed together though. you"d expect around 450-650 hp judging by the looks alone. If they actually get around to making this a reality I'll be interested in the results.

Look I found a picture of a "light throttle acceleration test."

On a more serious note though, I'm doubtful this car will see the light of day. But hey, let's hope it does.

2000bhp? That's nearly twice the power of a Veyron... From a V10??? Is it Ethanol or Nitro's powered like a Funny Car?

Looks like a 458 from the front and side and a MP4-12C from the back...:hmm:

I don't think the tires or the driveshaft will take 2000 torques.......the diff would probably explode instantly looool
