Strange Mercedes work van.
That's an MB100, the predecessor of the W638. They made over 200000 of them, mostly for Europe though.

Yeah, that's what also struck me. The red one would probably be OK, as it's not "in use" here, but the blue light would, IIRC, get you sentenced to at least half a year of walking and public transport.
You just need to be in the right place at the right time. That pic were taken last december, I stumbled upon the Street View car while leaving the local FedEx depot. There are several more pictures, but the one I posted is the one that came out the best.So how much did you have to pay the guys in the streetviewcar for this?
And they probably think people over here wouldn't think for a second that was a German cop car
Over here, I think the law says you "must not be able to make them work easily". Meaning, if you remove all electricity going up to the lights & the bulbs you are fine, this also probably had historic plates. And they probably think people over here wouldn't think for a second that was a German cop car
Compare to:did you want this picture?
it is quite a crazy little car yes. i actually like the overall design, but i dont like the doors... i dont think they work in a tight parking lot
Because driving an American Truck (it?s less with the Cars, but it?s lierally every truck) doesn?t say "I love america" enough for some germans. We (mostly in an ironic way) say "viel hilft viel" (a lot helps a lot) at such overkill ...Why does every American car in Germany have some form of 'patriotic' stickers on it [...]
Plus the hook at the front, and the tyres look like slicks to me, but that's not really easy to spot, so I could be wrong.possibly for track use since there were bucket seats, 5-point harnesses, and a back full of scaffolding in the interior.
