Porsche, Opel, Mercedes, Volvo, Lamborghini, etc... They all do it. Actually, come to think of it, I think Porsche started it off way before Audi got the idea, so you should be directing your pointless anger at them.

Audi started with the LEDs, but lots of companies are using them now... Porsche and Mercedes for instance are employing them now. I agree that they are ugly, at least on Audi's where they aren't straightly positioned and are curved into weird shapes, but they aren't useless and certainly not only for cocks and wankers.

We have DRLs over here and I don't see any issue with them at all, and using LEDs instead of traditional bulbs is just natural progression to a better technology. We're seeing more and more cars that employ LEDs as the main headlights cluster, no reason LEDs can't make their way into being DRLs too. They happen to be ugly on most Audi models since it's a huge part of the design but other companies do a better job in my opinion.

I've really got nothing against LED technology. I like them as taillights especially. They're good on the Range Rover as brake lights. Seeing brake lights is obviously very important. And the fact that I haven't really noticed them on other cars points to them being used well in those cases. Now that I think about it I can recall noticing them on Porches but they're not really obvious like on all of the Audis I've seen.

And although all the people that love the DRLs on thier Audis because of how 'showy' they are are indeed wankers, I didn't mean to imply that all Audi drivers are wankers who love DRLs for how showy they are.

Yeah, I see heaps of Opels and Lamborghinis every day. I can't believe I never noticed that they use them.

I've stated the reasons for my "anger" very clearly and why it's pointed squarely at Audi.

What amuses me is when people put Audi-style LEDs in the headlights just to show off. I've seen it on a latest model Honda Civic and a late 90's Toyota Landcruiser Prado, among other things, and on those cars they haven't put them there for visibility reasons, they put them there to show off.

I have to say though that I'm not a fan of LED DRLs. It doesn't anger me really, I just think they're often too bright and distracting when they are heading towards you.

Went to the annual downtown classic car show. Lots of cool 40s, 50s, 60's and 70's cars, but the most interesting car I saw today was a old Diesel Peugeot 504 Wagon. It was dropping someone off at the airport and clattered up to the curb, covered in dust but amazingly rust free and in good shape for such a wet place. Looked like it was from another planet compared to everything else around.

Saw this a bit odd looking 912 today. Some extra chrome bits and bigger wheels (though I'm glad they follow the style of the originals). I'd rather keep it original, but at least it's not horrible.
