Other Random Car Sightings [Photo Required]

^ Yup, with this 30+ degree heat you see so many nice cars. Driving to school today at around 30 minutes I saw a Ford GT, Gallardo Spyder, AMV8 and a DB9.

Obviously I was still mostly asleep so no pics.

the one day i dont bring my phone with me...

So I was on my way to the local supermarket so I could get some food to cook(will post on FOOD! section later. but as I was leaving I saw an interesting car out of the corner of my eye.I know most of us have that 6th sense where you kinda see a shape while your driving or something and you look over cuz you know its going to be something different or special. anyways, it was a Cadillac on a tow truck, but it didn't look like traditional Cadillacs it looked..pretty good for a car of its age. kind of like a 90s SL500. So I decided to go look round the back to see what it was and when I took my sunglasses off I noticed the unmistakable Pininfarina badge. so I saw it was an Allante just as the guy came back to drive it away. upon further research I found they only made 3,363(Rarer than the 360 in spider or Berlinetta form) because it was too expensive, I think about 10 or 20k more than the corvette at the time. doesn't sound too interesting i suppose but I see fewer Pininfarina badged cars that aren't Ferrari or Maserati than I see Ferraris and Maseratis. a couple Alfas and this to my knowledge are the only ones. It didn't look bad and not at ALL a Cadillac. More like a 90s Maserati front with a caddy grille and a sort of SL body

Interesting find imo

Interesting. I saw a dark green one a few years ago in Vancouver.

I haven't been as motivated to post my sightings as much since I got to drive a few exotics last year. But some recent ones:

- Saw a Smart ForTwo on route 22 in Allentown, PA by Airport road. Looked very odd in between the giant SUVs.
- There's a Porsche Cayenne Turbo in the LSI parking deck (where I work).
- Saw several vintage old-school 911s (must have been a show or something)
- Yesterday I saw a red Ferrari 360 Modena near the 78/517 offramp and about a half hour later a yellow Lamborghini Gallardo on the way up Schooley's mountian in Long Valley, NJ.

And its the rarer ones...single headlights.

Which makes me wonder if it's a repro.

C1 ran from 1953 to 1962, the later versions gained chrome and dual headlights courtesy of Harley Earl... I don't remember when they started morphing, maybe 1957? That design is ultra-rare, I think possible repro.

I dropped my car off at the dealership this morning, and stumbled across these in the showroom.

Hmmm RS4 with round steering wheel, I know it's an option for the wheel bluetooth functions but what do you people prefer round steering wheel or flat bottom steering wheel?

Flat bottom!

Flat bottom looks a lot prettier and racier, but i don't know how it is for practicality. My guess is there would be no differences, so i'd take the flat-bottomed one please.

If your wheel is brought back to it's 0* rotation when you got out of it, the flat bottomed wheel does ease entry a little bit...but it's not necessary on most cars that they are fitted to, these days. Don't get me wrong, I love 'em...but they are kinda useless.

I always thought the flat bottom was for easier entry into the cockpit, as it has less thigh intrusion space ?

And also, the looks department is complimentary. :)

I thought that the flat bottomed steering wheel didn't exist for the North American models? Had something to do with different safety standards... it's a shame really, the wheel really adds to the car.

Here's a couple of shots from lately:

They absolutely floored this car through the first two gears after they got out of the gate... amazing sound!

Also saw one of these in the green colour... I'll take the orange one, thanks.

something rather rare:

I know the GTI in NA has the flat-bottomed steering wheel so I don't see why Audi couldn't do it when VW could?

No. It hasn't got the quad-pipes, or boot lid spoiler. Probably a CLS500.
This is a CLS55 AMG:

I get that a lot at my nearest course. A golf course in an affluent area means rather expensive cars. They are mostly BMW 5s and 6s because of the business men coming in after a tough day at work.

There are 3 M5s I know of in my town, one of which is my mate's dads. One is just up the road (about 10 houses away) and the third is also fairly near. Thats what we get here; all the rich people work in London and live here, in the suburb towns. With a 30 minute train journey to the centre of London.
