Random Thoughts... [Automotive Edition]

If I had to choose, I'd rather have a open heart surgery performed with a bread knife. :D

Was a hard choice for me, but my reasons for not going with an Avant were that I actually prefer the look of the saloon over it and that 9/10 A4 B6's you see in the country are Avants. Hipster Audi, yo.

...and so it begins...:D (for reference, Jane is my stepmother)

Haven't heard a reply back yet though...

rickhamilton: Well, your taste in cars is hopefully not representative.

And BTW, please disable that annoying automatic advertising signature in your Tapatalk.

 and...fixed. :)

Wait are you saying you plan on driving that death trap again with a spare tire?

Lets play a quick game of "whats wrong with this picture"

Ready? Go!
HAHAHHAHAHAH Kubelwagen!!!!!!!
@Ice, Avant all the way! They weren't very popular here so not easy to find (newer ones are more popular) and I did prefer the sedan look back when I was getting the car but now I would absolutely go for the Avant, looks different from all other Audi's and much easier to wash the rear window :D

+1 I love those big German wagons too. Shame we didn't get the big boys. I would love to own one of these:

Much more recent than that, it's a Volkswagen Thing.

About half of them built were wagons, there's got to be a reason for that.

People bought pet rocks like mad, too. Doesn't mean they were a good idea.

Right up until the point where you have to work on it. The engine's in the back, and with the wagon, you have to be really, really, really, really careful not to get grease on anything... after, of course, you've dismantled much of the rear of the car to get to the engine.

Also, especially in the US, this was emphatically not better as a wagon.

Imported for three years... sold only 1602. Remaining factory inventory (IIRC) sent to the crusher.

Hah. No..when I said fixed, I meant the image...before I edited it, it had a phone number. :)

Could somebody give me some info on the Chevy S10, got an offer to buy a 1999 (or 2000, my mind is a bit shoddy) 4WD. Should i avoid it like the plauge or can it be a decent second car/hauler?

It looked good though...

Wait. People BOUGHT those?
I thought it was just people picking up a rock from the yard and taking them to school for show and tell or something. I remember quite clearly being in the "beg parents for pet" stage and got the reply of "you can have a pet rock" so I found an appropriate rock and painted it pretty colors. :|

No. No, it didn't. It was awful.

Yup, it was a commercial product. Guy who thought it up became a multimillionaire from it.

Yep people bought them. There were a few hanging around at some cheesy store I was at. Dumbfounded wasn't a strong enough emotion.
