If the US of A goes to shit, so will it's currency.

Alexandria Ocasio Cortez has introduced a ten-year plan called the Green New Deal this week. Highlights include:
  • Rebuilding all buildings to be energy efficient;
  • Replacing planes with railroads;
  • Reducing "emissions from cows" - yes that's an actual quote;
  • "Economic security to all who are unable or unwilling to work";
  • Consent from indigenous people to do anything that might in any way affect them;
  • Providing "good jobs", whatever that means;
  • Ensuring that "the public receives appropriate ownership stakes and returns on investment", i.e. communism;
  • Ensuring that "every businessperson is free from unfair competition", because we're now at the playground level
If you're wondering how any of this idiotic nonsense can even be possible, you obviously need to be less "concerned about being precisely, factually, and semantically correct than about being morally right", to put it in AOC's own words. Amazing.

Link and link

You do realize this was just a resolution, right?

Hence me typing "in a currency that will not devalue to shit". I wasn't talking about USD's or HNL's. They tell me Swiss Bonds are a good way to store money. not currency as such but it Switzerland goes to shit, clearly money has ceased to have meaning and I should've instead stocked on canned supplies and listened to that podcast on vegetable plots and armed personal defuse.

As for resolution, what, will the actual law speak about burning the poor and make the trains run on coal again? this seems to align with AOC's wide-eyed populist image as a politician and p much reflects what she would do given enough power. Good for the smarts who game the system and flee if implemented. bad for sustainability.

I never said it was a bill... I just posted about it to laugh at its complete insanity and AOC's stupidity.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Have you seen some of the other crazy resolutions that have come out of Congress?

You are engaging in whataboutism. Just because other resolutions have been crazy doesn’t mean we shouldn’t call this one out. Keeping government in check is one of the cornerstones of democracy

The funny thing about the Green New Deal is that it has very little to do with environmentalism and almost everything to do with socialism and identitarianism. Some people are jokingly calling it the Watermelon Plan. Green on the outside, red on the inside. lol

It is non binding. It is not a bill that can become a law. It is not going to cost anything.

You are missing the point, it illustrates the idiocy of AOC and her platform. Further just because something isn’t a bill now doesn’t mean it won’t be later. Kind of like that wall we been talking about.

That like saying that a resolution to kill all black people wouldn't be a big deal because it's not a bill. Still says a lot about the author/sponsor...

You've once again managed to redirect the conversation away from the actual subject - the Green New Deal.
