Random Thoughts....

Just watch, it'll be on 4Chan tomorrow. Not posted by me but it'll be up there.
Yeah, I'm going to bed now!
Ni!

Is it bad that I have a crap filter with dudes' car stories now? I heard one of my friends talk about going >200 in an ex-girlfriend's Corvette tonight and secretly scratched my head...in my head...imaginarily...wondering, "Really? Down that squirrely uneven bit at the end of [insert Waco's main thoroughfare here]? Hmm. Something about physics. Handling. The tendency to be full of merde when you enter the presence of a girl..."

I'll nod and smile in person, but after one too many tall fish tales, I have my doubts. And I feel like a cynic for it. Because otherwise that would be epic.

Nope.

I do, however, have a ruined XK6 engine block I am considering making into a night stand.
Oooh, do want.
What is weirder is that I know some people are getting knocked up and having kids...before they even finish school. :?
Aughh! I remember getting freaked out in high school when one of my classmates had a kid. I was like, "holy crap, my body can do THAT now?! No, no, let's stick to the fun bits of getting older like driving and lottery tickets and NOT GETTING PREGNANT, thanks..."
That's impossible, we have global warming so you can't possibly have snow! /snark
72 in Waco today!

It'll probably be 40 later this week. Welcome to Texas; our weather's schizophrenic. Only a loony would try to find a pattern in it.
Pretty sure there is no porn of me on the internet. :shifty:

Oh, no. You can never be too sure. Especially with flash. Repbox porn, eh?

(Ew.)

Also, this probably belongs in the anime thread, but lulzengrish in the Black Lagoon theme song. "Burn in the hell!" I'm convinced the end of the song is by Shakira's evil Japanese twin, too. Yay.

"So, how did this hole get in your floor?"

"Um, it's okay. It was a Jaaaaaaag."

In all seriousness, I've already lost my deposit from almost burning down the kitchen. 350 lbs on an old wooden floor--what could go wrong? ;)

:clarkson: How hard can it be?

Heh.

Well, I also have the crankshaft from that engine, which weighs more than the average grown woman.

Whole thing, assembled, is 750+ lbs. Friend of mine up in Missouri found out that his hallway floor wouldn't support one in a crate when it wound up in his basement.

Engine wasn't significantly damaged, but it cracked his foundation.

If I ever get 750 lbs, please take me out behind a barn and shoot me.

- read that after eating Taco Hell...urrrrghhhh

P.S.: The Onion's video piece on TB today said all that ever needs to be said. Should've gone to a roach coach! Hablo Espa?ol...urr, un poquito (maybe). Quisiera dos tacos al pastor con cebolla, cilantro y queso. Tortillas de harina. Gracias.

I can't quite remember the "I would like" form, though. It's either quisiera or quisiero.

...in which case, everybody understands a gringo saying "necesito..."

I meant that the entire assembled engine in ready-to-run form is 750+. The crankshaft itself is about 150, IIRC.

Hm. Should really go to sleep, given i have to be at the training centre by 7:45 am for my motorbike (ok, scooter in my case, but still) pre-learners course.....

So fucking nervous!!!!!!!!!!! D:

So...I officially have beat my record and just finished watching the new Star Trek three times in a row.

If it involves real bikes, keep this in mind:

You will probably drop it. Possibly many times. Happens all the time in training courses. Lots of people do it, nothing to be ashamed of. Just expect it and if it does happen pick it back up and keep on going. And yes, it will hurt.

In the real world, you will probably drop your bike (not necessarily crash, but drop) at least once in your first six months of regular riding, probably at low speeds. Everyone does this. The only people this has not happened to are those that didn't ride much if at all and have not hit their real six month point yet. Anyone claiming otherwise is LYING.

I would venture to say that all the serious riders on this forum would tell you the same. I say this not to scare you put to make you realize the situation so as to make you prepared for it. It's a lot less of a surprise and shock if you know what's going to happen.

I hate packing for overseas travel. I always feel like I haven't packed something even though I can't think of what I am actually missing.

I've got some catching up to go, but it's after midnight and it's been beyond shitty today.

c) My technical knowledge on gas turbine theory is only very simple, basic crap with far too many assumptions to apply in real life.
Good point to make. You don't have bad habits that your soon-to-be employer will have to break.

good luck with your interview BTW.

BrydieM - good luck. I'm contemplating getting my bike licence in the near future as funds allow. At least get a proper (legal) bike and L permit.

XK6 - prime candidate for use when disposing of the bodies in large bodies of water. You might need a crane, but once it's hit bottom, it's not going anywhere.

Ninjacoco - nice start with the lights. Warm that world, or bring on the ice age. I can't decide. We are still currently barren of all Xmas decorations to date.

Schoolmates having babies - we had a number of kids drop out in Yrs 10, 11 & 12 to have kids. Scary thing is the babies they had are now starting to turn 18, other friends are getting divorced and married for the 2nd or third time, and I'm still in my 30s.

Nabster - I started wrapping presents. Thought I had bought some good quality, heavy duty paper. Nope, apparently been stored in a really sunny or hot place for a while. Really brittle and tearing everywhere. Funny thing is though, I though there was gold speckle dye/paint over the base purple of the paper. Instead it's glitter. There is glitter on everything that I have touched for the last two days, on me, clothes, bed, desk, bag, car & ended up in the dinner. Wrapping presents in front of a fan with flying glitter is apparently a bad idea (well, it didn't look like glitter until I pulled the plastic cover off the roll of paper). I've thrown the paper out, but I'm still cleaning up after the damn glitter.

Last year I had to print a lot of christmas cards for my bfs company, they were full of glitter, the computer room and everything in it (including me) were covered in glitter, the printer is still coughing up glitter sometimes <_<

I wonder if the forum gets used more or less this week because there was no TG episode...
Maybe more people come on the forum because they don't have an episode to watch?
Maybe less people come on because there is no episode to discuss?
:hmm:
Yes... i'm that bored...

Well it's 3:30 AM and I'm exhausted so I didn't imagine that. I imagined

action.

Omg that sounds hottt, link?!?

Yup, I can only agree with Spectre here. I only dropped the bike once in driving school, when trying to go up a curb at too shallow an angle - so the curb only pushed the front wheel aside, and I fell. One year later, and I've already crashed the Yamaha twice - locked up a wheel under braking both times and slid, once an emergency stop in the dry, once in the wet.
And also once dropped the BMW while wheeling it out of the garage.

Nothing to be ashamed or afraid of, it's part of the deal. ;)

The good news is you're going to Hong Kong where I'm pretty sure you can buy anything you've forgotten for not too terribly much money. :-D
