Random Thoughts....

I'm not sure if I remember what rain looks like... Seriously the last I saw rain was back in May.....in England.
You can have some of ours, then. It's like Monty Python and the Holy Grail here: spring changed straight into autumn, today featuring the closest lightning strike that I have ever witnessed.

Its like showers... although you probably didn't see those in England.

I made it to England a few days ago and already I'm loving it here.

Good, welcome to England & Suffolk and enjoy your stay.

There weren't any rooms available at the hotel on base so I'm staying at a hotel/pub. Oh darn! :p

Oh no! Forced to live in a pub, the hardship!

I've already been set up with a rental car (a 2001 Honda Accord with a 5-speed and VTEC kicked in yo!) and driving has been a bit of an adventure so far. Maybe I should have flipped through the Highway Code before setting off on public roads on my second day in the country. Oh well. The biggest problem I'm facing is that I have absolutely no idea where anything is so trying to find shops or anything ends in me getting very very lost. But hey, that's how you learn about your surroundings right?

An Acccord is OK to have for a start.
Yes, you should have a look at the Highway Code but you will pick things up pretty quick. The one thing you should never think about doing is drinking and driving, but I think Japan is pretty strict on that as well, so no change.

I've also taken part in the great tradition of watching Top Gear reruns on Dave. Next up is the search for a car of my own and a house to rent.

Hello from Ukania!

LOL Dave TV.

You should also check out SKY3, now called Pick TV, for a documentary show called Road Wars, stupid drivers and funny cops. Double bill every evening at 22:00.

:)

Hello from Ukania!

Greetings and welcome to good old blighty.

Dave is a good channel to watch since it has repeats of QI, Have I Got News For You, Mock The Week and of course Top Gear. There's only one problem with it and this goes for the other channels like the UK Comedy Channel, Discovery and so on. The Ad breaks are filled with stupid insurance and accident claims ads.
If you're looking for general shops, you would probably be best starting off with Asda or Tesco's which generally carry everything and also are everywhere.

So what will be tonight? Episodes of Simon Sharmas History Of Britain, Season two of BBC 2's Coast, or Season 2 of The Office (US)?

Coast is always good to watch. Mostly because I have a crush on Dr Alice Roberts. I've not seen Simon Schama's history of Britain but it is one I would like to see. Heard its very good.

I have Simon Scharma's History of Britain on DVD - very, very good series. Never got into the US version of "The Office" or seen "Coast" so I can't help you there.

(How is "Coast", BTW? Worth a look?)

Coast is great if you like small snippets of British history each episode.

Just bite him like you did Kenny.

Cricket bat :|

I like the 'plant porn on his computer then call the supervisor a few days later' trick.

I bloody wish. Tis a lot more difficult than that. For a start it'd help if me mother could actually do the sacking instead of it going through our "bosses." He got his first verbal warning off me mam last year but when it went to the actual disciplinary meeting about it with the bosses; it got quashed all 'cause he started crying an' they felt sorry for him. I work for a fucking Mickey Mouse operation I do. The rate he's been going on he would've been long gone ages ago if this was actually run like a proper company.

Not only that but he's done some appalling stuff. One thing he constantly does is try to mek me mam out to be an absolute senile battle axe who has no idea what she's doing, an' constantly picks on him 'cause favours me an' the other woman we work with. Which is the biggest load of bullshit 'cause if anything, I get the most grief just 'cause me mam's the gaffer an' I'm her daughter. He's done several other things that would count toward "gross misconduct" such as walking out on his job an' some other stuff too. Thing is though, he's so petty an devious if me mother even as much as tries to put him right, he says he's being victimised. An what we don't want coming out of that is a tribunal concerning sexual orientation discrimination. Because going by what he has done before, he bloody would. :| We've got a nasty piece of work in our midst. An' I want to strangle him.

I Succumbed to steam and bought oblivion for 12 bucks.

All I remember about that is that the voice actor for the guards in cities was the same dude. And it was always like

Guard: What are you looking for?
Me: <click>
Guard: The Inn is to the west.
Guard: The West hotel is to the east of the north fountain
Guard: The south terrace is northwest of the east river

I've gone through 3 blackberry's in 7 months, don't ask me how because your guess is as good as mine. I hate it, email app is so plain and I'd love to have two other email accounts set up but the fact that it's all dumped into a single inbox bugs me. Same with Outlook, but that's another story.

I don't like the blackberry for some reason, it's just too plain, and the fact I've gone through so many in such a short time.

What kinds have you had? I've had my Curve 8320 for 3 years now! The Bold series has some issues that I know of but no idea about the current Curves on the market. I'm waiting to see what comes to T-Mobile at the end of the month. They're supposed to be getting a new Blackberry that'll either be the Torch 2 (realistically it'll probably got to AT&T) and the cousin to the Torch (not a slider, touchscreen all the way). My next BB must have a keyboard. Screw typing on a screen.

I've played with Androids, they're nice but lacking. Not sure what but I would rather keep my current BB until it truly dies or can no longer load webpages (it has a hard time now...) instead of get an Android.

One dog was put down 5/6 weeks ago, now the other dog has these two tennis ball sized lumps near his stomach... Which ain't gonna be good news.
This is why, you shouldn't be allowed to have pets.

With so much devices running Android right now, I really doubt you would have trouble finding one that suited your needs/liking. :)

Today I found a random switch that didn't obviously control anything, so, being male, I flipped it to see what it does. Apparently that is the "make a pop-fizzle noise and knock out half the lights in the house"-switch.

I love those switches.

Would you say you blindly gave it some input in exchange for some output?
