Random Thoughts....

I feel so horribly guilty that some of you are spending time to sort out my issues. But damn, I need to hear that I am OK person. I will, I PROMISE, that I will pay every one of you back in kind when you need the support that is freely being given to me.

And we miss you too. :comfort: Why the absence?

First, nothing but <3 from me. I'm sorry to hear what you're going through but I can sympathize with ya. All will get better soon, for all of us!

As far as ehere I've been, I don't really have a good answer. I just kind of disappeared towards the end of my last quarter of school and havent really com back like I wanted to. I'm yet to find work in my career path some 10 months on and im working in a job that leaves me very frustrated most days. My girl is finally done with law school and the bar so many of my nights are now spent with her. Long story short, I missed you guys and I plan on slowly reincorporating my self around here!

So, hi again!

Jay, if you haven't questioned something you have or have not done until now, you are lucky. We mere humans do it all of the time. And don't sweat it, we all need some comfort or a swift kick in the arse on occassion.

Exactly. Many people here have given great advice, especially to me. It's only fair that we/I pay it forward, if you will.

As to what was mentioned previously, everyone's right. That "perfection" in their lives that you see is likely nothing but a facade. No one's perfect and more importantly, no family's perfect. There's always going to be some dysfunction, but people choose to hide it due to society's pressures to "fit in and be that "model family/person."" Our differences make us unique, embrace them and let your individuality shine. :)

Mythbusters should test the local tales round here that Irn Bru is able to cure hangovers.

A full English breakfast (or its Caledonian equivalent) and a large Bloody Mary are the way forward.

I feel like I haven't posted here in ages, it has been one calamity after another, I've gotten through them okay. Just need to learn to take things one at a time instead of letting them overrun you like a steamroller fitted with a massive nitrous kit (if that is even possible). On another note, I'm feeling guilty enough not to pirate Winnie the Pooh because it's almost like violating a part of my childhood. So..what did I miss?

Man, if I cared about what my friends on Facebook did, I'd be pretty jealous. Some of them are always going on vacations to some really nice places. Some of the people I grew up with a long time ago all have nicer cars, jobs that pay a lot of money (despite not going to college), going out to the clubs at VIP tables and partying all the time, etc. Some of them already have like two or three kids, even, which surprises me. Of course, not all of them are that successful, but a decent portion of them actually are. o_o Of course, I think they also have other issues they deal with that you don't see on Facebook. (I don't even post much on my own, just usually about stories of something that Facebook screwed up, ahah.)

People only ever post happy things on Facebook, that's why everybody's lives seem so good in comparison to your own. By contrast, even though FinalGear seems a lot more gloomy at times. It's a more accurate representation of human society. It's not always going to be rainbows and sunshine, so Jay, avoid working yourself into a little corner that you might not recover from, no good will come of it. Go out, see the world. Your sorrows may be there for a little while longer but don't let them define you as a person. :)

Maybe we should research and get together a list of all things that are believed to have hangover curing properties and submit it to the mythbusters to test all of them. Even the ridiculous that-will-never-work-and-makes-no-sense wives tale stuff, I could see it turning out pretty interesting.

Not a bad idea LC. One for the Junior Team since Grant's heritage means he should react differently to Tori and Kari to similar quantities. What other ones can you think of and is Irn Bru available in San Francisco?

they already tested that iirc.

They'd probably have to buy it at a specialist shop which sells UK stuff (there are a few of them out there) or import it, I would guess.

Just thought of this, wouldn't they have to get one of the team drunk to test it, or get volunteers in then get them drunk so they would have hangovers?

If they go the team route, make Grant do it, I imagine him being hilarious after a few.

they already tested that iirc.

Just looked at this list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_MythBusters_episodes

Episode 110, just found it, this page lists the methods they tried.

My only response to all this talk of "being normal", this is for you, Jay - We are not Borg. :p

and I really hope you understand what I mean by that reference...

Most eveyone I know wants to stand apart from the crowd, why are you trying to fit in? Uniqueness doesn't mean you don't belong, it just means that you are slightly different. Nothing wrong with that.

Or put in another way. ...

Bjorn Borg the one and only Swedish tennis player, men wanted to be him and women wanted to have his babies?

A friend of mine who is an MD once explained to me that any high-sugar drink will help to ease the hangover. Forgot the exact reasoning but he highly recommended drinking not only lots of water but also add some soft drinks to the mix.

Had a funny thought in the shower: I would love to hear a Scottish person recite "granite grapenuts grown in the ground." Their tongue would catch on fire if said fast enough.

I have been watching past episodes of BBC 2's Coast and that Neil Oliver...he really lays it on thick.

Definitely not the reference I was making, as I have no idea who you're talking about.

Lord knows....

Let me see...I was born and raised in the USA, I also have absolutely no interest in sports whatsoever, and if it wasn't referenced in Top Gear I probably don't care anyway. :p
