E30 M3 - Considered to be among the best road cars ever. (You can add the E46 and E36 versions as well.)

Vw R32 - With AWD and a VR6 motor in a small package, this is one hell of a awesome car to drive. When I saw this video of the R32, I wanted one even more. ( http://video.google.com/videoplay?d...9082&q=vw+r32&ei=q-GLSOinMYqUrgLdjJiTAQ&hl=en
) - Until I found out that it was Haldex AWD =/.

B5 S4 / B5 A4 1.8t - Drive both platforms both, both are great fun to drive, balls out fast when modded even with slight bolt ons. Loved mine, will be getting another one for sure.

Is that the same engine as in the Cobra R? Pics?

It started life as the American Ford GT motor without the supercharger and slightly less powerful. And FPV in Australia make a few modifications of there own.

looks like this except it has 315 and not 290

The 2000 Cobra R had a 5.4 DOHC naturally aspirated V8 with 385hp.

Didn't the cobra R come out with a supercharged 4.6l engine ?

As much as some people will deny these cars, they are proper drivers cars. They are also some of the few new cars over 500 bhp with a manual gearbox solely offered.

ahem...

And now an important point: I don't mean exclusively 2-seater sports cars meant for track days, oooh no. I mean drivers cars in every single meaning of the word "car". !

Okay.. okay, i'll leave. Sorry guys

I would have to say 1st Gen Dodge Neons 95-99. Sure they might have had a spotty reliability record. But they shattered SCCA records and continue to hold many of them.

Oh yeah and I have owned 4 :)

Apparently you have trouble understanding, he didn't mean exclude those cars, but he didn't want the entire thread to be about them. They're allowed.

And since when is a Dodge Viper a dedicated track car?

I dunno if this has been posted but, the BMW E30 318is. Not as fast in a straight line as the 325i, but more nimble and agile. It makes you become a better driver, or else you are inevetably slower.
