Jack,

Did you se this documentary last night?

It covers the full 45 years of evil and is very funny at the end.
(Not classically funny, but I laughed at the downfall.)

BBC iPlayer - Rupert Murdoch - Battle With Britain

See most of it. Steve Hewlett was pretty good. Must be hard to be that fair to the Dirty Digger.

Interesting the way the business swings from newspapers propping up the media business, and now newspapers dragging down the media side, but the politicians never stopped licking his arse.

Wonder if the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act will ever kick in.....

Former News International chief executive Rebekah Brooks has pleaded not guilty to charges related to phone hacking.

Several other former News of the World journalists who appeared at Southwark Crown Court also pleaded not guilty.

BBC correspondent Tom Symonds said the dock was full, with 29 barristers in court.

Shareholder Derivative Action Against News Corp. Over Antitrust Violations

Rupert and James Murdoch exposed News Corp. to billions of dollars in liability for violating antitrust laws in their efforts to crush competition in the in-store promotion and insert coupon market, shareholders say in a derivative suit.

Iron Workers Mid-South Pension Fund filed a derivative action against Rupert Murdoch, James Murdoch, and 16 other corporate officers of News Corporation in federal court.

Good, the corruption is everywhere and should be sought out.

He has got away with things in lots of companies, in lots of countries for far to long.
Time to seek out ALL the mis-deeds and punish the guilty.
(I hope the puinishments in the USA for this sort of thing are harsher than here in the UK.)

Already down over ?200m, punitive damages in the US could be higher that the UK, add in the derivative action case and the potential for corrupt practices action, could it all top ?500m???
the potential of a US court to award punitive damages - which are difficult to obtain in an English court - could see the level of settlements rise beyond the UK figures, reaching millions of dollars.

The Independent understands that Ms Huthart?s case is the first of a flurry of six high-profile cases, linked to the US entertainment industry, which will be lodged directly against News Corp in its American heartland in the coming weeks.
