That's disgusting! We should mark those people, I refuse to interact with them. :p

Shouldn't paypal be free by now, at least in Euro within the EU?

https://www.paypal.com/de/webapps/mpp/send-money-online

I have literally not checked in years, but last I sent money, I was asked to pay fees. Although that might have been outside of the EU. No clue. Anyway, as I said (I think, I just copy-pasted it as every year), just check what it says before sending and make sure to either pay or cover the fees, if any apply :p

It might be, I have not seen any fees when I am sending you money in any of the years I have sent them via paypal.
Did pay a bit extra this time though, just for kicks

https://landgasthofweihs.de/ is the closest one. Their english page doesn't seem to load properly, but with a little Googletranslating, you should be able to get what you want. But be warned, I'm staying there with the kids :p

Alternatively, there's http://www.gasthof-faltin.de/, mere 500m to walk from the campsite.

One option also is the the place we use for Saturday dinner. https://www.wurst-kessel.de/gästehaus/

Making it really easy for non-German speakers I see :p
I've been so spoiled by automated booking systems in all my travels lately.

Sent a request to all of them for quotes for those days.

If it's any consolation, I can't really speak German either.

Payment sent.

Paypal Friends&Family is definitely free within Germany for both sender and recipient, that much I can confirm 100% - using it all the time. Should be the same within the EU, not sure though.

Can someone post the campsite location to Google Maps, been looking but can’t find it. I‘m looking at a few other lodging options, but would like to reference them to where the festivities will occur before booking.

There we go :)

The address is searchable as:
Camping Viktoria-Station, Alte Mühle, Ahrbrück

Ah. I was searching Victoria and everything coming up was in the UK.

EDIT: So I never realized the campground was 30km from the track. For whatever reason I always through the campground was right there. I found a few great (and really cheap) AirBnBs right near the track and got all excited, but now I'm seeing that they're way too far from the campground. AirBnBs around the campground are a bit pricier. The most reasonably priced one I can find is about 5km away in Mayschoß. Still waiting to hear back from the previously linked hotels.

EDIT2: Found a bunch of reasonably priced places in Altenahr. Thats only a 30 minute walk. Seems like that's going to be the winner. I probably should actually do some real work now. I'll make a decision and book a hotel tonight. Then flight. Then pay Thomas. Should probably figure out rental car somewhere in there too.

EDIT3: Maybe I'll survive without a rental car

But probably not.

But probably not.

Just wait a few more days until you get a reply from Weihs, Wurstkessel or Faltin. I tried to stay in hotels farer away before and it sucks.

It's so convenient when all you have to do is stand up, walk for three or five minutes (depending on how well you can still walk in a straight line), and crash.

Have faith in the advice of the ones who've been there several times ;-)
