What's it like to drive a car that's actively trying to kill you?

This and many other burning questions trouble Jeremy Clarkson as he sets out to explore the world from the safety of four wheels. Avoiding the legions of power-crazed traffic wombles attempting to block highway and byway, he:

* shows how the world of performance cars may be likened to Battersea Dogs' Home

* reveals why St Moritz may be the most bonkers town in all of the world

* reminds us that Switzerland is so afraid of snow that any flakes falling on the road are immediately arrested

* argues that washing a car is a waste of time

Funny, globe-trotting, irreverent and sometimes downright rude, Round the Bend is packed with curious and fascinating but otherwise hopelessly useless stories and facts about everything under the sun (and just occasionally cars). It's Jeremy Clarkson at his brilliant best.

Is this likely to be a complication of his newspaper columns again? It looks like it from the description. I haven't finished reading last years book yet...

That's the same date as James May's Man Lab book. Hmm, competition.

Am I the only one looking forward to big, sexy posters for this all over the Underground? <3

Anybody?

Just me then... fair enough... *backs out of thread slowly*

Yes, convenient how his books and DVDs always seem to come out just before Christmas <img src="http://forums.finalgear.com/images/smilies-custom/dry.gif" alt="" title="Glare" smilieid="67" class="inlineimg" border="0">

My guess is that Mr Clarkson is a very wealthy man.

And from what Ive read in his books, the biography done on him, and comments from his friends and family...He's earned every penny and then some! He comes across as a hard worker whose willing to go the extra distance, to not just make money, but to make his family happy at the same time. :)

And contrary to recent popular beliefs...he's also a devoted husband who's terribly in love with his wife.

Yeah, surely. They're complicating them as we speak. :p

I don't know what planet I was on. I did of course mean compilation. :p

My previous comment was a bit harsh too, his columns are very good and I never read them in the newspaper so who am I to complain? :)

Shveeeet, another thing I need to buy. :) Taking all bets as to what Clarkson's mildly disgruntled expression will be this time!

How often does Jeremy put out books? I recall* ads in the Underground when I was visiting back in May/June.

*And by "recall", I mean "I have a photo that I took of one of the ads when I was there..." ;)

Twice a year, generally - the hardcovers come out at Christmas and then the paperbacks come out in the summer, and they get advertised heavily on both occasions. Which is nice :)

Do we know if there's going to be a Big Book of TG this Christmas?

It looks like there's going to be something, because the package deals for Top Gear Live include a 'Top Gear Book (title tbc) - worth ?12.99'. For the last couple of years that has been the BBoTG, but this year, who knows?
