Rush: Hunt v Lauda film

New trailer just been released. September feels like ages away.

Just got back from seeing the first showing. Awesome, awesome, awesome!!! The action sequences are amazing although I wish there were more of them as most of the film is focused on the people instead of on-track action. That being said they did an excellent job of developing the relationship of Hunt/Lauda from hated to pure respect and I now have a lot more respect for the kind of person Lauda is. Talk about dedication to winning the championship...wow! There was some surprisingly good humor in it too. But best of all were the cars and the sounds. :woot:

9/10

I will try to see it tomorrow.

I am really excited. :D

Had a visit from D-Fence today (he is seeing as much of Ukania as possible before returning to Ze Vazerlandt next week) and since it was blowing an absolute hoolie in Brighton today and there weren't that many cute girls out and about to ogle we decided to stay more warm and dry and go to see it.

Holy crap! Great movie. I could pick up on a few gaffes with period detail and a couple of other bits but I won't do it here and Daniel Bruhl as Lauda is incredible. He should get an Oscar nomination at the very least.

I agree, and even thought I am not a fan of his, Cris Hemsworth did a nice job too.

The race scenes gave me shivers, such beautiful photography!

2 more weeks for Slovenia-land. :/ Damnit.

saw it today, great racing movie. the character element is fantastic, Hemsworth did a good job as Hunt but Daniel Bruhl was phenomenal as Lauda. Race scenes were good but felt like there could have been more and shot from further away but guess my next point does lead onto why they didn't. The downer for me was the tracks, wasn't really looking out for it but was quite clearly not at tracks they were saying some times, spot elements/corners of various UK tracks. Other than that a great movie, not as good as Senna in terms of an F1 movie but then they're different genres really.

Senna was a documentary so likely to be different.

Plenty of mistakes in the film but in this case I don't care. It's about the story not about being a slave to detail.

This movie made me respect the lunatic that Niki Lauda is. Was fun knowing the 'Murray Walker' commentator and 'Enzo Ferrari', where it's like seeing some old pictures come to life. All F1 drivers deserve our respect, from the past till present as it really takes balls to drive these cars fast, over a race distance.

Finally got around to seeing this. And yes, it was really good. I'm pleased it was character driven and it showed off the relationship between the two fairly well. The racing scenes werent as bad or as cheesy as I was expecting.

Just got back from seeing it in the theater with a friend. Awesome movie and such automotive pornography. Beautiful cars!

Saw it, loved it. Hemsworth did a serviceable job playing Hunt but this movie belonged to Daniel Bruhl as Lauda and he did a great job doing Lauda's weird sounding Austrian accent (do all austrians sound that way compared to Germans?)

And after seeing documentary footage of Lauda's crash I was even more impressed how faithfully recreated it on film without much exaggeration
