Hi,

As a noob photographer and a cheapskate, i have been looking for m42 lenses. I have already 3 of them in my gear but im always up for more.

*With my 350D i have:

-Auto-Beroflex 28mm f2.8 (i use this mainly because with 1.6 crop its a nice allrounder
-Auto-Chinon 55mm f1.7 (in reality its more like 1.4, large aperture and brighter images at the same f-stop than for example that auto-beroflex.)
-some 70-210mm f4 m42 (nice thing about this is that it has the same filter size than 350D kit lens)
-Kit lens 17-55mm (nothing nice to say about this, just basic)

So i want your opinion which would you buy and why from these 3 choices:
-Vivitar ZOOM/MACRO FOCUSING 28-70mm / 3.9-4.8 made by TOKINA (1:4 macro interests me) (40-60 euros)
-Auto-Beroflex f2,8 / 135 mm MC tele M42 (around 20 euros)
-Exaktar 135mm f2.8 M42 (this is anywhere between 20-40 euros)

And if you like, you can give me tips how much should i pay (you would pay) for each of em.
I will update this post when i get to know the exact prices for me.

I got this -> Auto-Beroflex f2,8 / 135 mm MC tele M42

23 euros + postal costs so no biggy for a 200mm+ lens

Yes its a manual focus, and not the best brand in the m42 lens market.

So far i have been satisfied, gave it a shot at the local ice hockey hall and gave me decent results during the game (it was a bit too long for our little hall but still)

nice... some of those m42 lenses are little gems. I have a Helios 44-2 58mm f2 which is a replica of the zeiss biotar lens. I have the super takumar 50mm f1.4. Soligor 200mm f3.5. Pentacon 20mm f1.8. Haminar 135mm f2.8. Haminar 200mm f3.5. Auto-Chinon 35mm f2.8

I have some more but those are the ones that come to mind. If you want a really good one get the helios 85mm f1.4. It's a magnificent lens. It's not cheap though.
