Finally got around to modding my Racing Kart a bit and taking a few photos of it. One of the cheapest Technic sets, but also one of the most satisfying to build and display

I just built that one myself. Building the Caterham now.

What mods did you do?

Expanded my vintage technic collection again. 8040 was my favorite pneumatic set back in the day.

8865 is in the mail, so this is coming in next.

Added this gem to the collection this year:

Maybe the 8880 will join for the next years hollidays.

I know two things. The combination of Technic and Bugatti means Junior will have much want. And the other thing I know is that I don't want to know how much damn money that thing is going to cost me but I'd better start saving now.

Rumours say € 360-370 so probably slightly less those numbers in pounds.

I hope it won't be as horrible as the porsche.

It has 900 more pieces and is still about the same scale as the Porsche, so something will be added. I still wouldn't hold my hopes up for ackermann steering and other more authentic technicallities but it has a new designer instead of Uwe Wabra who did the Porsche so who knows? My guess is most of it will go to a more detailed exterior which I would be fine with.

Speculation, nitpicking and more about 42083 here: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/158657-42083-bugatti-chiron/&page=1

Since these models are more aimed at AFOL-s i'd expect more effort put into realism.

I disagree. They're Technic sets. I expect that sort of skeletal look in a Technic set. If it were Creator or something like that, then sure, make it look more realistic.
I do wish they'd do more sets like they used to do with the old Model Team line.

Realistic as in the depicted mechanisms and technology. Right now they are going for realistic looks but totally basic and unrealistic tech.
