Depending on how badly rusted the Opel GT is, it might be a worthy project. The body seems to be largely intact apart from what looks like a minor front impact to me... the cars are quite rare (around 100000 sold worldwide) because of the body and only the body - below the metal it's all 70s GM parts bin crap, which means that large portions of the inner workings of the car were used until the late 80s or are compatible to stuff used then.
It's basically a Kadett underneath - a Kadett B, which is what the GM T Platform was developed from (to be honest, it is 99% identical to the Kadett C, which is the german incarnation of the T Platform) - this means most Chevy Chevette parts can at least be made to fit (metric vs. imperial screws will be a major problem here).
