Spintires: Awesome offroading game

Did you... take actual pictures... of your screen? You know you can just press F12 to take a screenshot for pretty much every game running through Steam, right?
I've had steam for about 24 hours so no, I didn't know that :| Print-screen doesn't work in Steam though.

I got this and absolutely love it! It is sort of frustrating getting a truck stuck, but to get it unstuck by either using the winch or another truck is just an amazing feeling. I think the first major thing I did was on the River map take the orange truck with a garage trailer to a new garage. I had to use the old blue truck to make it there pulling it part of the way.

My big tip: always drive close to where there are large trees. :)

I really wish there was more information about the trucks themselves as to capacities and weights.

I noticed yesterday as I played for a bit, that somewhere along the line they've added wheel support, though with my DFGT it didn't really work due to brake and throttle being tied to the same pedal for whatever reason. I could see that going places with some work though.

I got it, but I really suck at it. Here are my first two tries:
1st try:

2nd try, managed to get my truck between two trees that were exactly the length of the truck apart:

3rd try, got stuck in a swamp. But so far is a fun game.

I got it but got bored because the premise is nothing more than "get stuck in mud". Yes it's fun for an hour and a half but then you just want to rage quit because the mud is acting stupid. And who designed the fucking camera and UI!? Operating that alone is as frustrating as trying to get out of mud. I eventually got to the log loading site and then realized, nope there isn't anything more to it than this. Load this log and drive back. Yep.

However that graphics engine and mud should be licensed to say Farming Simulator, it'd be EPIC!

Its a shame about the development of this game. I read that the lead developer was basically locked out of submitting source code of the game by the publisher. No more development of this game, which is a shame.

Shame because it was a really good and original idea, and what little there was of a game was actually very good, all it needed was the camera fixed, better mission variety, more vehicles, more maps with different terrain, and maybe some kind of backstory/advancement thing.....

As it sits now it was a fun week and a half of playing, but that's it :p

It seems the developer and publisher reached an agreement. There was an update released that gave a new map called, Flood.

Buying a computer and this game will be significantly cheaper than building my XJ into a trail rig.

New map looks interesting, will have to give that a try. That Jeep looks pretty serious, I wonder if anyone has done the Discovery.

Checked youtube, not seeing any Discos, but plenty of Defenders and RRs.

Thread Necro: I just picked this up for sale on HumbleBundle for $7.50 and I'm digging it. I think there have been some updates from the initial release (wheel support, new trucks). Camera is still a PITA though.

I still haven't figured out the controls. I started with Plains. Ran a 6x6 (Ural?) out of gas at a locked garage exploring. No problem, found a 6522 with a garage semitrailer, drove that halfway across the map through a stream. Can't figure out how to use the garage points (@&$!) maybe the trailer was empty. Loading up the ZIL with fuel trailer to go fill the Ural to go get more garage points. I foresee much winching in the future.

brainsssssss...

i mean 4 garagepoints needed to unlock a garage, drive next to garage and it should unlock as a fast travel point on normal difficulty.

I figured it out. I didn't realize I needed to set the parking brake to unload the trailer. I'm playing on Hardcore difficulty, so no fast travel.

I managed to sink the Ural to the door handles by foolishly trying to cut across the plains with a load of logs (I made it across empty, the effect of mass in this game is impressive). Freed it with the Kamaz after 45 minutes, only to tip over and lose the load. Came back with the giant Maz. Got it upright and unstuck after another 45 minutes, reloaded the logs I dropped. Then I towed it around the perimeter road to the objective. 7 and a half hours... one map done.

Got bored, played Spintires.

Downloaded an F350 and it's seriously awesome! On the volcano map I made it all the way to the top of the river (by driving up elsewhere, the water is too deep to go straight up) and then drove back right through it.

In a bit of a bind on my way down:

Also downloaded a Wrangler. It's capable but not as much fun as the F350.

Got it high enough up the mountain to find a glitch:
