I have been carless for a while now (after the sale of my ST170 Focus) and needed a ride with a bit more space (will come handy in the future), therefore I decided to follow the recent trend in finalgear and I bought myself a old mans automatic diesel wagon.

This was the state of it when i got it:

Today few minutes later it looks like this:

Is that one of the engines that have the auxilary "flaps" in the inlet that detach, lodge themselves between the valves and destroy the engine?

Yes, those have been removed and plugged by the previous owner

Has the timing chain been done? Or was it mostly the N47 problem?

Anyway, congrats! E91 with M-Sport works beautifully. Did you get the M-Sport wheels also? I can't say I'm a fan of those in the pictures, even if deoranging the car made it look ten times better.

Few questions regarding the options. What are these?

P7R7A Innovation package <- It turns into a Tesla overnight?

P7R9A James Fleet <- Captain Slow Collection?

S843A Power reduction <- um... Captain Slow Collection again :D

S8SPA Control unit COP <- so you have got radar, handcuffs and other items? :)

Do you people not have any imagination these days? :p
No seriously, always liked the E91 and there's no better version for a sensible daily than a 320d auto. Looks well specced too :)

It's the 180-something horsepower version, right?

Yeah, 340Nm is about par for the course for a 2-liter diesel from the 00's.

The timing chain problem is only N47 problem.
Those wheels are for sale because of the looks and size (19" with 265 rear tires). Will go for an inch smaller summer wheels. The winter tires are with wheels with m-badges. Will have to check if they are style 270s.
P7R7A Apparently it is the package which includes the double xenons, adaptive headlights, professional navigation etc.. Someone can verify this if needed.
P7R9A and S843A are The german captain slow pack, for taxation reasons they reduce the power output to 150hp via software, shall see if I will buy some more hp/nm
S8SPA Control unit COP is apparently Coil-on-Plug control, not a clue what it does :)

Coil-On-Plug is typically not something that has any business being anywhere near a diesel car.

Bought myself some new wheels. Got a decent deal on used genuine BMW BBS style 124 - wheels. 18" / 8" wide. Currently thinking about refurbishing them (only one wheel has some curb rash)before buying and mounting tires on em. Depending on the offers for the refurbishment of one wheel and per wheel, there is a chance of changing the color of the wheels also. Shall see how this pans out.

 Style 124 will look so much nicer than those aftermarket ... things. Sorry if I'm offending anyone here, but blech. Why do people think that looks good?

A solid 90% of aftermarket wheels are terrible IMO. This is so much better.

Very nice, and miles better after your upgrades! Love it!
