Well, I was watching the first half of the Liverpool game and switching between that and the Sevilla & PSG, which was a much better one to watch. Liverpool, were missing their top players and the stadium was so empty, the Steaua fans were making more noise than the Kop. The result turned out pretty good for Roy for resting his best players, as they have got Man U away on Sunday.

After a good start by Sevilla, PSG played much better from about the 25th minute on and probably deserved the away win.

Good away result for Man C.

:)

(Tech Note: Both Europa & UCL Leagues now use the extra penalty area assistant referees, making a team of seven officials in total.)

Second half of the Liverpool game made me happy. I really enjoyed the way they played, and I hope to see some of that in the epl. All the Lucas haters, once again... the reason I don't bash him is because he is rarely... no, never... played in his preferred role, in fact he is forced to do exactly the opposite of what he is good at. Much respect. He never complains, and gives 100%. He deserves the goal, and it was a decent one, too.

Still.... /envy Bayern...

Ajax 1-1 AC Milan
Auxerre 0-1 Real Madrid
Basle 1-2 Bayern Munich
Braga 0-3 Shakhtar Donetsk
Chelsea 2-0 Marseille
Partizan Belgrade 1-3 Arsenal
Roma 2-1 CFR 1907 Cluj-Napoca
Spartak Moscow 3-0 MSK Zilina

Home wins for Chelsea and handy away wins for Arsenal, Bayern & Real, no big surprises but I have yet to watch the highlights.
:)

Win \o/
Not a particulary good performance by United and Valencia were more dangerous when they got forward, but still
0-1 win for United:)

Hapoel Tel-Aviv 1-3 Lyon
Inter Milan 4-0 Werder Bremen
Panathinaikos 0-2 FC Copenhagen
Rangers 1-0 Bursaspor
Rubin Kazan 1-1 Barcelona
Schalke 04 2-0 Benfica
Tottenham 4-1 FC Twente
Valencia 0-1 Man Utd

* * *

Barca only draw away to the Russians, must have been a tough gig. Away wins for Lyon, Copenhagen and Man U are always good in this league. Inter and Spurs both have comfortable home wins.

Didnt know there was any Man U fans here, congrats on the away win.

There is also a lone Chelsea fan around somewhere as well, but other than that FG seems to be pretty solidly Gunners.

FC Copenhagen going for the stars! Great job!

And Panathinaikos had been so cocky up to the game, good to see them brought down a notch!

Only a home draw for Man C, but it was against Juve, so not bad I guess.
Away draw for Liverpool is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

:)

There's a few of us knocking around.
Ooops, forgot about you!

Two table topping wins for both Chelsea and Arsenal, maintaining their perfect record of wins. Well done Basle too, for an away win which gives them a chance of second place in Group E behind Bayern.

The BBC posted the other matches' results later than Basle and the two English teams, hence the EDIT.

"A game of two halves*" for ?arry, Spurs were 4 ? 0 down and Gomes sent off by half time against the Champions, Inter. Then, Gareth Bale got a hat trick in the second half, but that was not enough to save a point, although this probably increased Bale?s profile around the top clubs in Europe.

:)

Lads, it's "Basel".

Yes, I know but the BBC, who I ?borrowed? the results from, use the English spelling for some continental cities. Also, I have stayed there a few years ago, the road signs in Mulhouse, France didn?t spell it correctly either.

I am impressed with Tottenham. Played almost the entire match with 10 men and were 4-0 down at half time at san siro, yet managed to fight back in the second half. Shame they didn't get a point atleast for their effort

After three games, the top group teams with max points are Sporting Lisboa, Zenit St. Petersburg, CSKA Moscow, Stuttgart and FC Porto.

The good news for Liverpool fans is that they are top of Group K and didn?t loose tonight, the bad news is that anyone in the group still has a chance of progression.

A useful home win for Man City tonight, who top Group A, while in the same group, Juve lie in third place with some work to do after three consecutive draws.

What a great result for Tottenham, first time in the UCL and they beat the current champions.

Good away win for Sir Alex as well, even though Bursasport have lost all their games so far. Turkey is a tough place to go and get a result.
