The Forum Rules

user name change request.

user name change request.

Alright, seems a need to make some rules. These are subject to change at any time and it's your job to keep yourself informed of them. Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse.

  1. No spamming: That means no repeated, pointless posts (quality, not quantity!). Posting referral links or things like that relating to sites such as free ipods or whatever also is considered spam. Please don't do it. This includes "IB4L"/Post-count posts!

Also, edit your post rather than making multiple posts in a row (without anyone having replied since your last post).

  2. Post quality: We aren't grammar nazis, but please don't post like a 12 year old AOL user. Punctuation (the period, comma, etc.) is your friend -- use it!

  3. Posted images: No gross stuff, no porn/nudity/etc. (and that includes inside spoiler tags), and keep the filesizes reasonable, not everyone is on Cable or ADSL. The exclusion to the work-safe rule is of course the NSFW section.

  4. No flaming: I don't care how much of an idiot you think someone is, they have a right to their opinion. This applies to even those people who think F1 is better than WRC (not that they are idiots, they're just ignorant). :p

  5. No racisim and the likes: There is a 0 tolerance with this kinda stuff. You have a right to your opinion, but not to express it here. Do so and you will be banned, period.

  6. No Advertising: This is a forum, not a place to advertise. However, I do make some exceptions, so PM me and I may let you.

  7. Signatures: They shall be no taller than 175 pixels INCLUDING text, if you don't want a picture then it's like 5 lines of text, no wider than 600 pixels and may not contain nudity (tits and stuff from down south). Must NOT induce epileptic seizures (repetitive, flashing patterns). The filesize must be less than about 100KB -- that means no 3 megabyte animations!

  8. Swearing: I don't give a shit, but let's keep it under control. ;)

  9. Duplicate Account: You are only allowed one forum account. There is no need to have more than one. If you don't like your current username, PM me and I will change it for you. Multiple accounts are allowed per PC however if you share your computer with other people and they want to post on this forum too.

  10. Warez: No movie, game, application, and other warez links. We don't need the MPAA/RIAA/FBI/whatever after us. TV shows are fine, but nothing else.

  11. Bumping old topics: This is NOT allowed in most cases, especially if you have nothing to add to the thread except a random comment. In most cases, it's better to just make a new thread, but use your best judgment. Threads in "Specific Episode Discussion" and "What's That Song?" can be bumped of course though.

  12. Spoliers: If you are going to spoil something about an episode, do it like this:

    That will appear like this:

  13. NO REP WHINING: No complaining about your reputation. That means posting complaints about it, new threads on it, etc.

  14. NO TORRENT SITE REQUESTS OR INVITES: This should be self explanatory. Due to abuse and a bunch of spamming idiots, if you request an invite or join and ask people for invites, you get instantly and permanently banned.

  15. NO POSTING FFFFUUUUU: It is stupid, and you will get banned.

If you need clarification on any of these rules, feel free to post in this thread or PM me. They're subject to change at any time and there may even be some rules that I forgot to write down.

I screwed up when I joined, my username is dragnet714 but it shows up on this forum as dragBet714, I must have accidently hit the "b" instead of the "n", so since I cannot change this myself please change my username to dragnet714 which is the name I intended to use, in other words change the "b" to a "n" like it was supposed to be. Since the "b" and the "n" are right next to each other on the keyboard it is easy to see how I made this honest mistake. Thank you, Donna

^ hey there, if you PM Viper007Bond (the author of the post you quoted) or Quiky, they should be able to change it for you. Not sure if you will get a "previously known as ..." title or not though. Welcome, by the way :)

Hit the contact us link on the bottom of the page and Viper will take care of it.

How lenient is the filesize rule for avatars? I have a .gif animation I would love to use as an avvie but the filesize is 284KB- nearly triple the limit. I tried resizing it to 100 pixels wide (it's right on the 150 limit at the moment) but that looked horrid (it's small enough at 150 on my screen that I have trouble seeing it- then again, my screen size vs resolution is absurd). I am aware of the issue with slow connections and everything (believe me, I'm on one!) but 300kb takes about 10-20 seconds to load for me, less than a regular page on here takes.

The filesize is enforced by the forum software. If you can get it to upload, then you can use it. ;)

Post it in the Photoshop forum. They'll help ya trim filesize.

Yeah, couldn't get it to work. Posted a request in the thread (along with another similar gif that went absolutely haywire on my PC when i tried to crop it a while ago- I don't have much luck!) Thankyou for the info :)

It says that there is No Advertising, but it doesnt mention if you can add your own web site link / web site banner link in your signeture.

So are you allowed?

That's fine, but don't make it spammy / obnoxious.

So hows my signature? Just so i know for future reference what is deemed as ok for the signature

BIG YELLOW TEXT is annoying.

That possibly falls into the obnoxious category.

Yea, after looking at it myself, it does stand out quite a lot.

I've changed it, hopefully its better

I'm not sure there is a fixed 'deadline', but if a thread is over a year old it's probably better to make a new one as things can change quite a lot in a short time :)

Thanks for that, I understand that too, but like in the entertainment section, when can somebody make a new topic. If you want I can let you know about what for instance.
