The Funny Maths Thread.. which sometimes contains mildly amusing pictures

Took this picture on the way back from a pub with my buddies last night:

My friend noticed it and said "WTF Pontiac doesn't use spell check?"

I think a "guage" is what you have on your instrument panel and a "gage" is a measuring tool (i.e. feeler gages). I'm not really sure though and I've always wondered but have been too lazy to look it up.

EDIT: Maybe your warning light is telling you to check this:

Wikipedia sez:

Measurement Device

* Gage - a precision device used for accurate measurement such as pins, feeler gages, etc.

So... wtf is the light telling me then?

All that was going on was the fuel needle was in the red, that sounds like the result of a gage, not a gage.

Still... why the F wouldn't they just say "Gauges" like every other car ever made.

According to dictionary.com:

1.something, as a glove, thrown down by a medieval knight in token of challenge to combat.
2.street names for marijuana

I think the check gages light is just a general problem light, ex: low coolant levels. My grandpa had a Bonneville and I think I remember that light used to come on once in a while. And old Chrysler/Plymouths used to use the word "gage" as well as GM.
