The Meme Thread

You kids are all damn spoiled, in my day, we walked 25 miles to school in a freezing blizzard, and when we got there, we had to build the school ourselves from the dead carcasses of our classmates who died on the way.....and we liked it!

Must spread more dead carcasses before walking in the blizzard with Cowboy.

Technically those aren't handles, but rather hand-protectors. You're supposed to put your hands inside them to protect from getting rammed.

We always used to play "Scooter Pinball", which was a lot like European Handball except everyone was on scooters and instead of a net there was a baton standing on end you had to knock over from outside a boundary.

My school in Canada had simpler versions of those, which were basically wooden squares with casters, and I can completely see why you'd want to have bumpers on them. A pair of enthusiastic kids could really do a number on each other's fingers scooting around a gym floor.

We had the wooden ones at first then upgraded to plastic...but with no hand guards. Oh the pain! I remember getting my fingers smashed by another player's scooter then immediately running over them with my own scooter.

The sight of these also makes my fingers cringe with pain:

One time I got hit hard in my index finger and even though it had swollen up to twice its normal size I refused to quit playing. I loved that damn game.

Instead of heads up seven up, we played board games (Connect 4, Sorry!, etc) during indoor recess. I know. Lame childhood, eh?

I live on a big hill, needless to say I destroyed myself on one of those when I was a kid.

As for heads down thumbs up.... we called it heads up 7up. But I always prefered silent ball.
