Miata with a GT3 RS 4.0 engine could be an interesting swap...

But it'd be far, far cheaper to toss an LSx in it.

Speaking of, having a relatively "comfortable" car to call on just might let me modify the MX-5 a bit more, rip out some of the "comfort" weight... I hear one third gen Miata is down to 2080 pounds.

Cayenne's dosen't come with boxer engines...

I guess that pretty much narrows it down to a Subaru (or for a crazy long shot a VW type 2 or 3 bus )

Given the sporty nature of the rest of the cars of the household I'm guessing a Impreza WRX STI.

Yes, but they came with crappy auto transmissions only here in the US, at least. Dat sound, though.

It's not that bad actually, 5E-AT has active torque split (default 45/55, goes pretty rear-biased if needed) a bit like DCCD in STi but not as aggressive. That makes it pretty fun in the winter. It still is a slushbox of course, but there is one advantage over 50/50 manual. And the stock exhaust is shit, you can barely hear the engine, but oh boy does it have potential to be unleashed
