My entire car history consists of terrible financial decisions and that isn't going to change, the opinions of car leasing is interesting. :D

Over here, whenever they play an add for loans, they're forced to end with the message "loaning money costs money".

There actually are a lot of steps taken to discourage taking a loan for non essential things

In terms of financing a car, I'm happy to borrow as long as the weekly repayment is less than 10% of my weekly pay (with no balloon). For the last 4 cars I have bought, the weekly repayment has been roughly 7-8% of my weekly pay.

When it comes to financing car parts, absolutely not.
