The Trump Presidency - how I stopped worrying and learned to love the Hair

Air strike kills Qassim Soleimani, head of Iran's elite Quds Force, and senior militia official at Baghdad airport
I guess Bibi and Donny are soon going to meet in a sauna somewhere to jerk each other off. Perhaps someone from the House of Saud can join them.

Starting a war with Iran just because everything Obama did has to be undone (at least to a degree) is a new level of stupid that I didn't expect, not even from The Orange One.

Nice way to de-escalate things, by the way...

Once a thought starts rattling around in his head, there's no room for anything else until he acts on it in some way. He's against a wall politically, this is the result. There's no overall strategy at work, only reactionary tactics.

In totally unrelated news: A Deutsche Bank whistleblower has told the FBI that the Russian state-owned bank VTB underwrote Trump's loans.

Weren't you all proud of Trump's isolationist policies just a few weeks ago? Most the world sees killing the highest ranking military official from another country as a provocation, but you flipped so fast it's making my head spin. Within hours of the strike, the Pentagon was readying more troops to deploy to the region. Travel alerts were issued warning US citizens to GTFO of Iraq and to not approach the US embassy.

How is this in line with the White House talking point that the region is safer? The remember, the guy Trump killed was an ally against ISIS and was in Iraq because the US left a power vacuum on their border.

Just a few months ago, Trump was saying this.

After A Bold American Gambit Against Iran, 4 Big Questions About What's Next

What are Trump's intentions for the Middle East?

Trump has spent his relatively brief political career as a critic of U.S. adventures across the Middle East.

"Let someone else fight over this long bloodstained sand," he said in October when announcing a drawback of American forces in Syria.

During a Thanksgiving visit, the president told American forces in Afghanistan he had restarted peace talks with the Taliban — having abandoned them a few months before — and that he hoped they might all be home to celebrate Thanksgiving next year at home.

At the same time, however, the United States has only scaled up its military deployments across the region, including with troops posted to Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in response to previous violence by Iran, including its attack on a major Saudi oil refinery.

Now American forces are on high alert poised to try to defend embassies, bases and other facilities from an Iranian response to Soleimani's death.

Does Trump have a road map to align the facts on the ground with his own aspirations?

What is, exactly, Trump's strategy for the Middle-East?

This Twitter thread is interesting.

Now the administration is trying to tie this guy to September 11.

There is no strategy other than feeding his ego and trying to keep himself in power; as soon as he's out of office, he's fair game for a host of charges. He told guests at his resorts more than he told Congress.

Edit: Trump has threatened to destroy Iranian cultural sites and artifacts, a war crime.

Edit 2:
Iran abandons the nuclear deal with the world, announces it will enrich as much uranium as they need.
Makes perfect sense. The best way to make sure that no idiot (GWB) or nutcase (DJT) in the White House will order an invasion of your country is to actually have WMDs at your disposal, as Saddam Hussein found out.

Ukraine is a perfect example of what happens when a country no longer has nuclear weapons.

Looks like the House is going to take up the issue and will potentially return some powers to Congress that had been given to the Executive Branch for past expediency.

Iran just implied that they will target Trump-owned properties.
