Has anybody here played this game?

I've just now (since reading the wiki page) discovered that it's a few years old but I've only discovered it a couple of weeks ago.

I don't have an Xbox so I've been playing it at a friends house. He downloaded the demo on a whim and liked it so much he then went ahead and got the full game and all add-ons and expansions. He and I and our mutual friends now all play it whenever we get together. It's a very simple game but it's loads of fun and it's easy to spend hours playing it without getting bored. It's really fun as a group activity, passing the controller around the room like a groupie at a Rolling Stones after-show coke-party.

I dunno, maybe I've been living under a rock or maybe everyone with an Xbox already knows about this game but... man, if you haven't heard of it and you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up. It is so choice.

I love those style games, and that one looks particularly good. Too bad they don't have a PC version.

EDIT: Oh, now that I actually bothered to look, Trials 2 demo on steam. Downloading now.

EDIT2: I decided to buy it, but I have a major gripe with the controls. the leaning is toggled, to I have to tap left and right to adjust degrees of lean or to com back to center. This is making things way more difficult than they need to be.

I switched to the Xbox controller and eventually got the hang of the controls, but this game is pretty tough. Fun though. Worth th money so far.

Its an awesome game, but it sucks that you can only share/download maps from friends. I have like 1 "friend" who actually made anything.

I had that problem too, to begin with. It was very frustrating, especially since I didn't notice right away and I was wondering what I was doing wrong. After a while I got the knack of it tho and I could make little adjustments in mid-air and land well pretty consistently.

I had more trouble modulating throttle inputs on steep hills. I just kept overdoing it and going arse over tit! If you have trouble with that, my biggest tip is to use the Scorpion 250 whenever you can in stead of the Phoenix because the Scorpion seems more stable and less.... Twitchy and hair-trigger and all those other unfavorable terms.

In regards the hardest levels, I agree they're damn near impossible. My friend dday and I played one course for two straight hours and couldn't even complete it!:?
The thing that stops that from really bothering me tho is the fact that you can restart so quickly. I've played a lot of games that involve retrying the same thing over and over and the most annoying thing about it is often the loading screen and waiting between retires. Gran Turismo, I'm looking in your direction.<_< But with this game it's absolutely instantaneous. You just press one single button and you're instantly back at the last checkpoint. I think that helps me keep up a good rhythm and I feel like I'm spending all that time trying and not wasting half of it on loading.

Personally I don't get frustrated by the idea of never being able to do the hardest levels though. I reckon if I just spent all my time getting bronzes and then silvers and golds on the other levels I'd still get a lot of playing time from the game and probably feel as though I got my moneys worth.
