Vodka!

Only the very best for me:

Technically Koskenkorva is not a vodka. It has 3g/l of sugar, vodka has no sugar.

Really meant as a joke to all the Finns :)

Vodka is definitely my first choice. Absolut suits me fine, i'm not a picky person about these things.

Yes, shouldn't this place be renamed "Food and Drink"? Or will it suffer the fate of bbc.co.uk/food, which although featuring Oz 'n James, is still called just "food"?

I'm going to order a bottle of Kalashnikov, simply for the AK-47 shaped bottle. I don't know how good it is, being mixed with what is essentially sugar water, but I'm sure I can put up with it.

We have one of those. Can't take it out of the case/open it without breaking the serial numbered dog tag. And they're in pretty limited supply as far as I know, so we're never going to open it.

Also.
guess they did it right when opened the Museum of Vodka in Russia. Where else they had to do it?
There are 2707 different types of vodka there, some sorts are really rare, some not. We also had featured some weird Russian vodka packages on English Russia before, like AK-47 Vodka, Police Law Book Vodka, Triple Core Processor Vodka, so we could probably contribute to this museum too if they had a virtual branch in Internet. Also you can browse all our ?vodka tag? to see all the posts on English Russia that were connected to vodka, some were great.

Where did you get that? I have to know.

Vodka was my staple back in college. I generally go with Absolut myself, largely because it is easy to get.

My dad picked it up at the Sheremetyevo International Airport on a trip to Moscow.

I do like my vodka but only occasionally.

It's not proper vodka but the strawberry Stolichnaya is absolutely lovely.

^ They only have plain Stolichnaya here.

Speaking of which, I bought a bottle of Stoli last week (my first) and it's really fantastic stuff. I used to alternate between Smirnoff and Absolut, never bothered to try Stoli because I didn't think it would taste any different that other vodkas priced exactly the same.

But... I like the taste a lot more, and it goes down a lot smoother than the other two brands. I don't even really mix it with anything, just drink it straight up.

I am really loving Svedka these days it's cheap and tasty. The latest issue of Bon Apetite has an article on short aritcle on vodka and bunch of different brands they suggest trying I will see if i can scan it. The thing i find interesting about vodka is that it is one of the few liquors where when you cook with it you wanna use the cheap stuff because of it's more "robust" taste not being easily covered up

^ I didn't even know people cooked with vodka... what sort of dishes is it used in?

I enjoy drinking Vodka...a lot! In any shape, or form, or quantity :D

usually it's tomato vodka cream sauce which i fucking LOVE but it shows up in other recipies from time to time.

HERE is a list of main courses that use vodka from allrecipes.com

I tried Svedka the other day and it was really good. Almost on par with Absolut, and that's saying a lot.

It also has the advantage of being much cheaper. I still prefer grey goose as a sipping vodka, but Svedka is entirely acceptable for mixed drinks, etc...
