Welcome to XenForo

I turned off the multi-quote feature. It was confusing.

Forum software upgraded to latest version.

Some highlights include opt-in push notifications for alerts (don't have to be viewing the forums to get them), reactions for likes (Facebook style), and fancier embedding of links:

Phew. All custom titles have been successfully imported from vBulletin. 6 were cut off due to length.
? Though mine doesn't make much sence

I just noticed the round avatars, fancy. I'm guessing it doesn't support animated avatars now or would people just have to update theirs? Also are we at the absolute max for the car(s) field? Mine was cut off and I'm out of characters to list them as I would like.

I didn't even notice the avatar change. The roundness was just done via CSS (styling) so I put them back to square so they aren't cut off. Maybe not quite as pretty but square is more useful.

For cars, it's displayed to the left so I want to keep it short-ish.

Ooh, notifications. Might actually have found a single site I'll use them for!

I really would like to have links in the dark them visible by having them a darker colour compared to normal text. :)

I just found out a post had a bunch of links only by accidental mouse-over...

Since the text is grey, I'd suggest making the links white or possibly even have an underline if that's still not clear enough.

A few odds and ends (I'm using my own posts as examples every time simply out of practicality, not because I absolutely must have my own posts in stellar shape lol some of these things you fix one, you fix all):

Linked text - can the text in question be highlighted somehow, to suggest that there's a link there? In the following post, there's a link in "Here's one", and you can't really tell unless you take your mouse there - https://forums.finalgear.com/threads/parked-like-an-idiot.40423/page-103#post-3551817

Image import fail - https://forums.finalgear.com/threads/a-thread-about-ninjacocos-balls.53821/page-14#post-3555078 (I know I can easily go and edit that, but there may be others is what I'm saying)

Special characters I - the £ symbol is missing in this post in both the title and the text (replaced by a "?") https://forums.finalgear.com/thread...carew-conned-out-of-250k-over-porsches.48537/

Special characters II - "?" should be replaced by an "á" in these thread titles:
https://forums.finalgear.com/threads/lisbon-classics-show-motor-cl-ssico-2010.44186/
https://forums.finalgear.com/threads/motorcl-ssico-2011-2014.61681/

Since various people asked for that since we went to XenForo, I created a theme that is supposed to mirror the "good old" vb3 theme, a light base theme with red and black in it. It is far from perfect, I am still trying to locate various text and style options to modify further, but it is a start.

Known issues:
  • still some stupid background gradient that I can't find in some menus and the page-numbers
  • still trying to change text-color of the page numbers separate from the test of the text
  • text color in the user pop-up (black on dark grey currently)
  • Reply box background goes near black on activation - but only on mobile theme?!
You can find it in the theme selection bottom left under "FinalGear.com Classic Red"

Oh and I also made the hyperlinks in the dark theme visible.

Ooh yeah that looks nice, feels like home again. Thanks!

Also oh noes Thomas is now a staff member. Now he has even more clout. Run and hide! ?

SO MUCH BETTER, thank you!

It looks so nice...I would still switch to the dark one when you do it :p

One thing, the contrast between the page numbers and gradient under them makes them a bit difficult to read. it's the same when you click new threads. the "Threads below have not been updated since your last visit." gets lost in the dark grey.

That is already on my list and I am still looking for that specific option.

I haven't found that specific line just yet, but the one right above it where it has the filter selected "show new only" or whatever its called, fixed that one at least.. I'll keep looking for the other stuff.

Can't wait! Thanks Thomas.
