First replied to these 2 posts in the awesome thread, but then deleted it and decided to start a new seperate thread.

Not a big fan of the 993 (I prefer the 964), but page number makes this mandatory:

WHAT
993 GT2 is my favorite Porsche 911 ever... :D
I'd have to say 991 Targa 4 GTS. 430hp, AWD, still available with a manual, and that robot roof!

Let me clarify. Favorite factory 911. I too would've said a Singer Targa.

I'm actually going to be a bore. I'll take a plain pretty much a simple 997 911 Carrera like this one below. Just plain with no options. But honestly ANY 911 is a brilliant one and I would take anything with a 911 badge.

Without hesitation, the 991.1 R.

But barring THAT sort of magnificence/extravagance (which therefore would obviously exclude the car both prizrak and I would kill one another for, the Carrera GT), if I could only have one Porsche, I wouldn't take a 911 at all ... I would take my 981 GTS Boxster (not a Spyder, not a 718) again every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

I know I'm hopelessly biased, but this is what I mean. My car is about half the price, less complicated, same number of seats, and the engine is in the right place. The roof mechanism of the 991 Targa is cool, but you know that's going to cost a VW Golf to repair if it ever breaks. I understand the appeal of a regular production 911 cabrio, but I think anyone who chooses one of these Targas over a 981 (or earlier) Boxster is just posing (no offense, just IMO). I would take this over a 718, though (I'd take damn near anything over a 718).

 I still love her.

Yeah, well, favorite Porsche is the Carrera GT, without a doubt, but favorite 911 is, as stated before, the 993 GT2.

Just like that. Yellow with grey wheels.

For me, it is in the perfect sweet spot of round design, still looking a bit like the vintage Porsches, but with the agressive fender flares and huge wing and assorted aero bit to remind you that it means business.

It's probably a fake, but whatever, I was excited when I saw that one:

Also my favourite 911....

The last GT-2. It was just so viceral and dangerous car to drive. It was a car that demanded respect if you drove it. If not, you get in trouble right away. Plus, it looked so mean and even a 3.6 Liter boxer-6 producing 600h.p.+ is just amazing.

I don't like 911s, but the original turbo is 70s enough to get a pass as a favorite
