Where Does Your Car Live?

Quite a contrast between the two vehicles.

So how much room is there between the entry way trim and the roof of the Toyota, because it doesn't look like it actually fits.

Oh, it squeezes in, but it only has about an inch of clearance. So I guess I won't be going with 35's anytime soon.

It may not look like it fits because my garage floor is not actually level, it slants a bit to make it easier to wash out, I guess.

You can go with 35s, but you will have to air-down to park.

Yeah, I was prepared to do that very thing when I moved in, luckily it fits just fine. I don't do anything serious enough to need 35's though. I was even thinking about getting some smaller shackles to lower it about an inch. If I even keep it.

Made a couple changes this week:

Better lighting (just swapped out the bulbs for something with more kick than a firefly's ass), bought some new shelves from some guys who could have starred in Deliverance, and reorganized things a bit. Next up: move the gear rack to the side wall and get a work bench.

New parts bins:

Cleaned up some clutter from the existing shelves:

Yes, that is a radiation sign. Yes it was actually marking a radioactive area when I "acquired" it.
That big can on the top is a souvenir from World Super Bike 2010 at Miller Motorsports Park. One of the teams let me take it after they emptied (most) the race gas out. If I ever find a spout for it I might use it, otherwise it's just a cool thing to keep in the garage. Maybe someday it will become a table with a glass top.

New place we're moving to has way better garage space, so posting that, this is at least 3 cars length, but 2.5 with the S8, gonna have the sides boarded up a bit to deal with rain and dust

and this is adjacent to the garage, gate is big enough to let a large SUV in, should tightly fit 2 cars or one with comfort

That will be sweet when it's all walled in. Nice place for a shop at the front too.

Speaking of, I just scored a $25 workbench today in decent condition. Complete with pegboard and work light. I just need to cover the stoner snowboarder stickers with motorcycle and racing stuff and it will be good to go!

*bump* for newer pics.

Decided to park the cars back to back from here on, to free space on the court and to shield them from sunlight for most of the day.

Closest thing to a garage that I've got  That door is just big enough to fit my bike's mirrors through!

Do I spy a 996 and a DRZ in there?

Exactly what I was thinking. That would make for a nice shop space. Especially when you live somewhere so hot that 8C is considered a historic low.

I'd think about getting some more light for your place too Blind. Just a couple 4 foot fluorescent lamps would make that garage much brighter, especially with the white walls.

5-8c is fine weather to me, but I don't mind heat so long as I've got a little shade. Then again most days during the summer here it's only 30-35c.
