Lol that's what i said to myself a month ago. Now i have 350D, kit lens 18-55 f/3.5-5.5, the nifty fifty 50mm f/1.8, and I just bought a new lens that I have yet to recieve... the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8.

the 28-70 f2.8L is FREAKING SHARP.


at equivalent apertures and focal lengths, the 18-55mm has NOTHING on the 28-70 f2.8L
 
I bought the tamron 28-75 f/2.8 cause people say it's NEARLY as good as that L glass. I hope people are right...

hard to tell shooting digital, everything needs sharpening in the end. also, havent used any other lenses to compare. but i can say this, i used the Canon AE1 and a Tamron 28-70 3.5-4.5 which is about the cheapest/worst zoom you can buy for some advertising shoots and never got any complaints. people worry too much about their gear.

Nice set of lenses.. I've been drooling over a 17-40 f4L myself.. 28 just isn't wide enough and the kit lens just feels so bloody cheap when you use it, like it's gonna break the next time you focus.

BerserkerCatSplat told me to get my ass over here (well less directly here, more just generally the photography section). :p

I've only just started so I've just got a few things.

End of December I bought myself a christmas present...

Nikon D100 and an 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 lens (D70 kit lens I believe)
I now also have a 50mm f/1.8D

And that's about it! Aside from cheap tripod and a cheap cable release.
 
Got some new toys recently!

Got a 5d and a 580ex. The 5d is simply amazing, it's like getting a medium format camera. It also does wonders to my bank account, now I'm bankrupt :shock: 580ex is also very nice. I'd put off getting a flash for a while and it really does make a difference in so many situations. Sorry about the pict quality, it was taken with my messed up 18-55 lens.
