Fuckers.
Hope HBO picks it up. That would be brilliant. |

Good! Either way, I for one am looking forward to it. Oh, and that page links to the original source of the news, which is http://www.topgear.com/us/blog/more/...-gear-tv-show/ , and on that page is a direct link to www.finalgear.com!

According to topgear.com/us/ it was the BBC who decided to pass on NBC and take the show to cable.

Good job, I say. I think another network on cable wouldn't butcher Top Gear quite as much as NBC would.

Interesting that it was BBC that passed on NBC. Maybe they got tired of their show being put on the back burner.
I know Discovery use to have pieces of old top gear episodes on. They might be in the mix but would probably want more big explosions and the like. Speed channel seems an obvious choice but as I don't get it I hope not. Whichever channel picks it up (I imagine someone will eventually) it will probably not be until next fall at the earliest. I'd be very surprised if they got it going by summer. |

It would be cool to see it on cable or even a premium cable channel like HBO. Less censorship.

HBO, Showtime, anything on cable. As long as it's on Hulu or iTunes, I'll be a happy camper.

Cable? So HBO or Showtime?
I see they have a Top Gear Dog. Well, this should bode well.

I'm thinking Discovery or TLC.

Or maybe SPEED, the home of NASCAR?

That would be a good fit. From my limited experience with it, SPEED is actually a good channel if you ignore the NASCAR stuff. I wish they split it into two.

NBC would of been a bad fit for the show anyway.

Discovery should have done the show in the first place. They just know how to do shows like TG, where as NBC knows how to... er, make new shows fail. I don't know about SPEED, either; it seems like it might just turn into Motorweek.
Hey! Who do you want to be on the new cable-ized Top Gear America? I'll start my nomination with Mike Rowe.

The broadcasters on SPEED are awesome, too. Did you know Calvin Fish used to race against Ayrton Senna in FF2000? |

Seems like cable would be a better home for it - less potential for commercial sensitivites to interfere with it.
