He is a car guy, any celebrity who takes the time to do an interview for a rinky dink hard core racing magazine like Grassroots Motorsports has to be.
Again, he has BRE Datsun 510 with a super rare FJ20DE engine...the father of the revered SR20DET!
The end!

i once watched Loveline in Dr. James Dobson's (google it yourself) home office... maybe 10 years ago now?
It wasn't until the next day that i realized that fewer people can say that can say that than can say that they have been on the moon.
on topic: I think that Adam is a great selection if they just let him say whatever he wants. I still have fear that they wont.
i also found it terribly distressing that on the podcast, no one seemed to give half a shite about Adam being on the show while there was all kinds of interest in Dancing with the Stars. American TV is, really, mostly encumbered by a semi-retarded populace (of which i'm part of, i suppose). That Dancing with the Stars and American Idol are big shows while shows like Serenity are unceremoniously kicked off the air should be proof enough of that.
At least we may get back Dog the Bounty Hunter soon...

Corolla was great on Loveline where his obnoxious sense of humor was great when combined with the stoic Dr. Drew and 15 year olds asking about how to take their 27 year old boyfriends ****** up their ***. But it's not what I was hoping for as a host on an American TG. I'll give him, and the other hosts, a fair shake. But this is not a good sign![]()
My concern with the American version is that the show might be inclined to show cars in a positive light just because of advertisers whereas Top Gear is free to rip on whoever they want. Typically with shows like "Motorweek" or any of the shows on Speed, any criticisms are fairly light compared to Top Gear, which is free to say they'd rather "Have bird flu than drive one of those." Oh well, I guess I'd rather have low taxes with advertisers footing the bill rather than ridiculous taxes in order to not be at an advertiser's will.

You broke the forums.fg!!!!
This is true. My brother and I ran into him and his friends at Waterloo station in London last June. At first we couldn't believe it was him, and we wondered what he was doing there. Turns out all of us were headed to Paris on the Eurostar, and we ended up in line right behind him. We chatted for a bit, and he said he was on his way to Le Mans, and that Paris "is a lovely city." Having recently pulled a Top Gear marathon, I should have used the Le Mans connection to talk about cars, but Adam boarded the first class car on the train, looked at us and was like, "you lads in steerage class?" We nodded our heads and said goodbye.Last year when traveling to Europe with his gearhead friends, he went to the Goodwood Festival of Speed (Chichester, U.K.), LeMans, Paris Airshow and the Aston Martin Factory.
Carolla's a nice guy, though. I'm sure he'll give it his all with 'Gear'. Actually, the more I think about it, the more I think he's perfect for this sort of thing. And even though he hasn't made a career out of being a legendary car journalist like Clarkson, he is ultra-opinionated in very much the same way Jeremy is. Hopefully that will be enough. The real test might be in finding suitable co-hosts, however.
A) Heh, that's old (last year I think).
B) I remember listening to that the first time around.
C) Fucking awesome find. Forgot about that. +rep

I listened to the podcast and it made me all tingly inside..
I'm so proud to be an European![]()
i vote for Jay Leno.
my reason: "ching, chong" sketch associated with carolla (heard about it on the news).
would anyone on real top gear actually let that happen for a whole sketch?
Cone opens. CONE OPENS!![]()
Barring the "ching chong" episode that got him in such fervor, I'm both annoyed at that bit of racism and glad that he can be just as offensive as Clarkson. This video proves that he actually has a sense of humor, though, and it's not as brash as it was on The Man Show (he was the understated guy on that show anyway, and Jimmy Kimmel actually has a decent career now (and is banging Sarah Silverman (I'm slightly jealous (maybe ())))).
Then again, "the Koreans eat dogs."
EDIT: Finally got a chance to listen to the MP3. He mentioned cafe racers! I officially need to buy this man a beer.
