Rep Power: 49 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Superleggera? Ariel? Something that looks like a Radical? Any bets that they're taking a few cars round to set a decent laptime?

| It looks like the cheap car challenge is probably old Datsun/Nissan Z cars, at least that's what the silver and maroon ones are. | |

| My worries of this show look to be coming true, I was hoping it was going to be "top gear" inspired not, "steal things they've already done" Pretty sure the silver one is a 944 | |

| Previously known as ssnapier | I am not going to give up that easily, if it is executed in a way that brings some of our ummmmmm..... let's call it "american flair" without getting too commercial, I think it could still work. I also would not mind if they brought some of the true car parts back thru TGUS... Top Gear is great on it's own, but a decent sidekick on US soil would certainly not be a bad thing!

Rep Power: 7 ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think even if they do "steal" a few ideas, it will still be unique. When watching top gear I often have no clue who half of the people/ celebrities they are talking about during news segments, along with who the SIARPC are. Same thing with some of the challenges.. the alfa challenge was awesome, but I've NEVER seen an Alfa in this country. It'll be nice to say "oh I've been there before" or "hey, thats my car". It'll bring top gear closer to us and make it much easier to relate and understand. Not to mention testing cars you can actually buy in the US (not necessarily afford..)

Car: 1996 Toyota Avalon Rep Power: 13 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well they said that they wanted to recreated Top Gear exactly for what it was. They take the ideas and just make it their own by having their own adventure. Whats so bad about them taking the idea? Its not like both sides of the ponds haven't taken shows that were originally their own country. Pop Idol was first and than American Idol same thing. |

Keep in mind, the show is making the assumption most of the audience hasn't seen the British version. Edit: I really can't wait to see how the GM Ecotec powered Ariel Atom that is the US version does around a track.

Car: 2004 SVT Focus, 1997 Miata. Rep Power: 6 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm looking forward to an AMC challange. Sort of like the British Layland challenge but with American Motors Corps. cars. I can see Tanner or Adam with a Gremlin putting it through some challenges.

Car: Legacy GT Spec B '07 Rep Power: 22 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Just got back from the taping, i wont go into detail but it was part of a cheap car challenge between a german car (porsche), japanese car (datsun), and an american car (pontiac). It was a pretty funny challenge and they had the wrecked remnants of the cars in the studio. |
