I'm starting to really look forward to this. I really hope it catches on, and emulates (not imitates) the UK TG in most ways. I think a bit more improvised dialogue would be a nice change of pace and Adam seems like a good guy to do it. My only concern is that the masses aren't going to "get" it and after a few airings NBC is going to drop it because it's too different of a show than what Americans are typically used to on major network TV. Is there any word on how many more shows NBC is planning to do after the pilot? Would it be a "special" regular series? Mid-season stand-in?

I though it was the florescent lighting doing that.

Officials from Top Gear in England, who are producing the show, along with “everyone involved,” have assured Carolla that he will be able to speak his mind on any car “without fear of reprisal” from advertisers, which he fully plans to do.
My hopes for this show are the same, but my expectations have risen dramatically. images/smilies/thumbsup.gif

The podcast of the interview is available for download!!

Even better the second time around, the Carolla part starts at 1 minute 30 seconds.

Just a heads-up, the podcast is basically what the article was transcribed from, so it's the same stuff, just for your ears and not your eyes.

I've been thinking about this myself a lot and my biggest fears are that they will over americanize it. Especially with this talk of stunts and stuff I think it's going to go the way of extreme home make-over and just be lots of flash and simple minded humor, without the witty, quirky stuff we've all come to know and love.

Just to clear this up I think it's all the hormones in foods doing it these days. images/smilies/lol.gif
