OMG I am probably going to get the PS3 just for GT5. I just hope they put damage models in so you don't crash into a wall at 150mph+ and just drive away.

Apparently, Gran Turismo is also good for practicing behind-the-wheel car reviews. I bet he does that all the time.

GT5P is the best. I understand Rfactor and GTR are very intensive about the physics but i still think GT offers a better experience from those incredible graphics. I think by the time GT5 comes out (in 2010 images/smilies/sad.gif), it will be something all others including pc gamers can appreciate. Me personally, i hope that Porsche and Lamborghini make their way in because they are just that important.

On a side note. Polyphony Digital has also made Tourist Trophy. It is a bike game using GT hardware. It still needs alot of work on the physics side, but it is better than anything else out there. I hope they make a TT2 for the PS3.

But again, i'd recommend GT to anyone. Only thing is when you play online, find names that race fair. Otherwise you'll play with kids that see the game as a bumper car tool. It is not all bad as their are penalties and if someone isn't racing, he becomes a ghost as to not bother the ones properly competing.

Personally, Forza 2 > GT5P. Sure it looks really good and has nice physics, but that seems to be all it's really got going for it right now. I don't wanna see a nice M3 turned into a bumper car. If someone collides with a wall or another car, there should be a penalty for it, as in your car takes whatever damage you would have done to it rather than a couple seconds added onto the lap time or whatever the penalty may be. That detracts so heavily from the game to me. That and all the shortcuts across grass that I've seen in the gameplay videos. If I wanted racing like that, I'd go play Mario Kart or something, ya know?

But more on topic, I hope TG America doesn't suck. I may be expecting too much from it after watching so much of the original. ::fingers crossed::

Gran turismo apparhently couldn't have damage because of some legal reason, probably a car company moaning about not wanting their cars to be destroyed...Stupid reason, it detracts from the fun of having a sweet car thats completely wrecked trying to get back at the top! I really hope that Top Gear america is a great success so that their track could also be on the next gran turismo or gt5 if they continue to delay it!

Not true. Car companies are far past the no-damage, no in-game modification rules, as shown by the many games that feature a lot of both. The reason GT hasn't had damage, is because they've used the full capabilities of the system on design and physics (why they have been, and will be my favorite games, nothing on consoles feels as good), taxing out the PS and PS2. They feel as though the PS3's processing power is very much so capable of handling a damage system they'd have in place, but if you know anything on how near OCD Polyphony goes about those games, you can imagine the problems they'd bring on themselves working a damage engine in.

They have taken steps towards damage, though. The different segments on the car models are individually rendered.
