Default What kind of presenters would you like to see?

Simple thread, would you rather see celebrities presenting the car show like most network american shows, or a more original top gear style with relative unknowns?

This is not the place to argue about the show, so dont start problems.

i'm caught between the 2. it would be a great show either way. i wouldn't mind seeing familiar faces. but fresh faces always bring in the crowd who don't like car shows.

I'm praying that they don't get guys who talk like they're from the "hood", dress like they live at Abercrombie and Fitch, or are obsessed with "sports" like tractor pulls, monster truck rallies, etc. Normal, funny, reasonable, everyday people would be nice.

**Edit
Also, if they could get people that don't do steroids, suffer from anorexia, or have had all kinds of surgery to look better, that would be nice too!

I'd prefer everyday guys who are here to talk about their cars, rather than rich, useless celebrities who are only there to massage their egos. Imagine Nick Hogan as a presenter images/smilies/lol.gif

I think they could get some good automotive journalists like Ezra Dyer.

Both would be good I think. One petrol head celeb, like Jay Leno, and two relative unknowns. One of them a good motor journalist with great knowledge and experience about cars, and one racing driver who can do the track stuff. Not a silent driver like the Stig, but more like Tiff or Plato, so you can actually hear the pro's opinions.

In my view Gear will be better off finding new people who grow with the show. That will be a lot more entertaining to watch than a bunch of know-it-all comedians (although I love Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld).

My feeling is that they will have one well-known personality and two relatively unknown ones, sort of like the BBC series. And I hope they have a Stig character!

I don't want 2 Top Gears so i'd like hosts with their own personalities and not have NBC trying to find parallels to the UK version

As long as the presenters - famous or unknown - don't have the personalities of leaf springs ...

Jay Leno would make a good semi-regular guest. Sort of how Jay Kay and Steve Coogan have appeared on TG several times each.

The Tonight Show is taped weekdays in Burbank. Gear will be a weekly show taped 'in the Los Angeles area.' It could happen.

There is only one to do it:

Dennis Gage.

And yes, if you do make fun of the Gage-tache they will unfurl and strike like the many heads of a hydra.

Denis Gage would make a good host, but he might focus too much on the little quirks the cars have and end up boring the non- car guys.

this poll is honestly stupid. It needs "Journalists" as a option, and some other actual options. I'm actually kinda offended by the idiocy of this for once.

I'd vote for the best Journalists available, dispite how ugly or oddly dressed they may be. All of the best presenters ever have been great Journalists. Why do you think Tom Ford is the one FG presenter that angry TG fans don't hate?

Second choice would be somebody famous who happens to be somewhat of a writer, for example a comedian.
