They seem to. Whilst their resume may not look all that promising, my understanding is that Wilman has worked closely with Freehand and is continuing to do so. All those involved are aware that there is no way that Series 1 of TGA could ever hope to emulate the quality of the last couple of series of TG so quickly.

It is. But considering the constraints that Freehand have to work with (i.e. limited budget, SBS's reliance on sponsorship to finance TGA, a relatively new team undertaking a highly ambitious project, lack of decent facilities that are readily available *cough* Camden *cough*), they're doing a good job.

The underlying feeling I got when I went to the taping of 1x04, and then got a chance to speak with Steve, along with one of the Freehand producers, is that they are learning a lot of stuff very quickly and are putting in their all to try and make this a success. I'm sure they'll get better, and now that Series 2 has been given a green light, many of the learnings from Series 1 should filter through, clear as day.

I still reckon that by the end of Series 1, TGA will have met its brief of comparing favourably with TG Series 3.
