Default Top Gear Australia to Channel 9

Well... it's official. Channel 9 has secured the rights to TGA...

I'll give it 2 episodes before it's replaced with something else.

I guess the only consolation to this (if there ever would be one) is that Channel 9 can throw a whole heap more money into the show than what SBS ever could...

And the rights to the UK series as well........

It's a sad day for TG and TGA.

This sucks balls. Big fat hairy sweaty donkey nutsacky balls.

They're going to fuck up TGA big time. Even if Nein keeps the current TGA3, I do wonder if they will be on a shorter leash? FFS ... Waz, Steve and James need to be on a longer leash! Fuck, TGA itself needs to be on a longer leash. I'll watch the TGA Series 3, but only if they don't change the hosts. I'll be sure to watch it on the oldest TV in the house, that was it won't be any great loss when I lob a fucking brick through the middle of the screen come Series 3, Episode 1...

The only plus side I can think of is there will probably be non-stop repeats of TGUK Series 2-13 on GO! That, and we've still got our sweet, sweet torrents!

FUCK. This marks the beginning of the end of Top Gear in Australia, I guarantee it. They will put ot on at some shit time like 10:30 and it will just die. Then I seriously doubt we wil lget TG Live or anything like that.

I'm not watching it. I refuse categorically to support such a piece of FUCKING SHIT STUPID ASSED CRAPOLA RUINED COMMERCIALISED FUCKED-UP STUPID IDIOTICALLY-RUN station!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Offering a DVD burn of the episodes as they come out to friends now- supply DVDs and cases

It sucks thhat it has come down to money. The BBC has lost all integrity in my eyes. I seriously thought they were the only decent broadcaster out there. Thanks a lot, money-hungry idiots. You've made the BIGGEST mistake of your lives.

Obviously each episode of TGA will now be 42 mins long, but will they just chop out more parts of the BBC Worldwide UK episodes to fit them in a 1 hour slot? Or would they show it over 1.5hrs?

Either way, the people who do the programming at 9 are dicks - look at how many time slots the Sopranos had over each season

I wonder if they know about this place? Surely they wouldn't have their heads so far up their arses that they don't know about the existence of FinalGear, would they? I mean, this is the place to talk about Top Gear... surely someone in marketing or PR or some shit would be here reading this... We already know that Andy Wilman visits here every now and then. I mean, this is like, totally free and instant customer feedback!

So if someone from 9 is reading this: Bring back Micallef Tonight you fucking dicks!

I dunno tho... I reckon they don't really understand Top Gear and have simply bought it because they believe it will be a cash cow.

Bye bye TGA, it was fun while it lasted. Bye bye mostly-intact TG from Australian screens. Nine's gain is the public's loss.

Oh don't be such a grinch - of course a Facebook group won't make any difference, but it means people feel they're doing something, so where's the harm.

^ honestly, I don't expect to get more than 8/9 members, but if it can drum up even a little bit of anger and annoyance not only over Top Gear moving, ubt over other programs being sucked up and ruined by Nine, I will be happy.

I bet that Nine will try and stop BBC Knowledge from showing TG UK now, knowing them.

Oh it was you who set it up? I didn't realise. I know very little about facebook so to me it looked as though it had been created by some guy called Edoardo Longhi and I though I was making fun of him. If I knew it was you, my god, I would have certainly stopped to reconsider for a moment before doing it anyway.

Meh, don't worry. I probably shouldn't be posting at the moment, not in the greatest of moods And yeah, haven't done much on there because I don't have a clue how to run one of these stupid things- why do the most popular forums for support have to be so damn complicated????
