Shane Webcke, former front rower for the Brisbane Broncoes, drives a Toyota Landcruiser 200 V8 Diesel. He's a customer at my dealership and he actually does own it. He's also got a Prado and an LC79 ute that Toyota gave him.

Should also mention that he fits in the same "massive dickhead" catagory (just) as Sam Newman.

Most Australian sportspeople fit in the category of "massive dickhead". I know there are a lot of brilliant and nice ones out there doing wonderful things (like Glen McGrath), but they are definitely overshadowed by the "massive dickhead" category.

On the giving cars out for promotion thing, I know Porsche likes to cut very good deals with prominent businesspeople to give them a high-flyer image. My cousin (Junior head of one of the big four banks) and the people a few houses away from me (own about half the businesses in the town which I live) all own Porsches now because of the super cheap (a relative term of course) deals they got.

On that point, I would like to ask a question. It is believed (don't ask!) that ALL Italian boys from Melbourne learn how to drive young. So if you look at people like Anthony LaPaglia, those poeple.

And another thing. You haven't talked about whether any of the celebrities SHOULD go on the SIABSC segment on TGA. Certainly Shane Warne, but who else?

BERT NEWTON!!!!!!!!!! He should go on Top Gear Australia! He has been on Aussie TV (on one show or another) right from its very beginning and well deserves to go on this show. What car does he have?

Anne Wills (yes I'm old) used to own a Holden Piazza. And that's only of any interest since someone wrote a book about the marque.

TGA need to get the two blokes that went on that tour of Australia in a Piazza on there, maybe to do an early May-style retrospective on this great yet misunderstood Japanese-Australian classic. I'd love to see The Stig do a lap in one, but then again an episode of TGA only runs for about 50 minutes or so ...

Alyce Platt could be the SIABSC on that episode. Sure, she hasn't been on TV since 1989 or so, but it would tie in well with the whole Piazza theme ... (you have to read the book 'In Search Of The Holden Piazza' to understand).

I remember Stuart Appleby (golfer of some sort) owns that BMW M5 that he hacked up into a ute, which drew a lot of criticism from the users of this forum a few months ago, and rightly so.

Utes of any sort are downright awful.

James has owned something like 98 cars ...! But again, not sure if he still has them all.

Wazza has at least 2 antique fire engines and he may still have that 1907 Itala he drove in 'Peking To Paris'. Dunno what his daily driver is though ... Camry?

Pizzati ... I wish I'd asked him what his daily drive was when I went to TGA, but I didn't think to ask. I know he does (did?) driver training for Audi, maybe Audi are kind enough to give him a company car?

I'm sure I read somewhere he doesn't own a car at all, lives off borrowed ones. I think Warren has a Landcruiser.

About 4 or so years ago, Jeff Fenech (the boxer, and other talents....) bought a USED WK Holden Caprice from my work. Tight arse.

And well known Aussie actor Colin Friels (Water Rats, and random cop mini series etc) bought a new Rodeo from us around that time as well.
Hardly a performance car by any stretch of the imagination.

And a relative of mine (a musician and actor with multi gold records and Logie awards, only really old people would know who they were) had a thing for SAABs in the 80's-90's. The last one was a convertible........images/smilies/rolleyes.gif
Dont know what they drive now, something Euro no doubt.

So, at 35 posts, this seems to be the definitive list:

1. Lara Bingle - Aston Martin V8 Vantage
2. Eric Bana – XB GT
3. Kyle Sandilands - Land Rover Disco
4. Guy Sebastian - Mazda RX-8
5. Nicole Kidman - E500 & Bentley Continental
6. Sam Newman - Lamborghini Murcielago
7. Shane Webcke - Toyota Landcruiser 200 V8 Diesel & Toyota Prado & Toyota LC79
8. Jack Brabham drives a Mercedes SL55 AMG
9. Kamahl drives a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow II
10. Stuart Appleby – BMW M5
11. Jeff Fenech bought a USED WK Holden Caprice
12. Colin Friels - Rodeo (who makes Rodeo???)

Let's keep adding to this list.

He also owns a Lamborghini Gallardo.

The M5 ute is awesome.

Garth Tander owns a '69 Camaro as well. Michael Clarke owns/owned a F430. Michael Slater has owned a Ferrari. Not sure if he still owns one. Steven Richards owns/races Ford Escorts. Pretty sure i read somewhere that John Bowe owns/owned a 930 turbo.
